I'm not exactly a newbie, but I can't figure out how to post "before and after" pictures. I see the spot for them on the sidebar of the blogs, but I can't figure out how to get to them. Ideas?

I just signed up today and am so excited. I've been very frustrated lately about my weight and general un-well being. A lot has been going on in my family life and I feel out of control. I think this site looks wonderful and helpful. I look forward to getting and giving support because that's how we all can succeed!

I'm here. I moved over from a paid site that was good, but I wasn't using it much! Now I'm trying to figure all of this out!

Alright let's see where we've left off...

Hello and welcome to a bunch of new people (some not so new). We have April, Jenny, Janice, Marie, Jennifer, Samantha, Carol, Annette, Patty, Angelica, Lanette and Jamie!

April: Just sent you a note to see how you are doing. I also notice there are a few people on these boards with PCOS and looking to lose some weight so I think you should definitely buddy up with them and see what kinds of ideas etc you all can come up with.

Jenny: A cruise? How awesome is that. Have fun for sure. As far as the only 5lbs (which I see is 10 now) and spinning, it's quite possible you aren't eating enough to compensate for the spin classes. I know those classes burn crazy calories and so you need to make sure you are giving your body enough fuel to burn. Hopefully you have that all sorted out now!

Janice: Welcome. How is everything going so far? I understand what you mean about for your family. My priorities all changed once I had kids and now they are my main inspiration to lose the weight and keep it off.

Marie: Way to go on the 6lbs so far. It's 6 that you will never have to see again as long as you stay focused and motivated and get to where you want to be. Keep logging in, keep using the site, and you'll get there!!!!

Jennifer: 22lbs is AWESOME! Way to go for that. And all since April, that's just fantastic. I myself am almost no longer able to use the baby weight excuse as I have 4lbs to go to get to my lowest weight in forever prior to having babies, once that 4 is gone (and its going) it's all me, but stay focused, you have a goal, you want it...you'll get it!!!

Samantha: I know how frustrating it can be. I'm 5'1" and was where you started so I feel your pain. I hope you find some buddies as well, add me anytime, as they are definitely a contributing factor in helping you to reach your goals as sometimes despite only being online they can be your biggest cheerleaders!

Carol: Hello. I'm glad you came and found buddyslim. I hope as well that you see 199 and that it keeps you going and when you get stuck you reach out for resources so that you don't re-lapse back into eating again out of frustration. Get on the boards and vent, chat, laugh, and keep the faith. If you want it bad enough you'll get it!

Patty: If weight loss was easy we'd never have problems falling back into habits cause we could fix them easily. However not so much the case You need to make sure you realise that this is totally a lifestyle change and it's definitely a process. Once you see that you'll see that you start to make changes to your habits and eventually everything falls into place. Keep at it and keep telling yourself it's not easy but you can do it.

Angelica: Welcome!!!! Accountability is your biggest friend. Being accountable to yourself and/or others daily definitely will help in you losing the weight. Make sure you log in to the site daily (or as often as you can), post to the boards, use the tools, talk to your buddies and stay focused. You won't revert back to your old habits so much anymore once you get a clear goal in mind and set the priorities for it. Good luck and many weight loss vibes to you!

Lanette: Just wanted to say welcome and fantastic attitude, I love it. Definitely using the resources made available free to you is beneficial. I look forward to making this journey to the goal with you!

Jamie: LOL Yeah it's a bit of a transition from other sites but once you get used to it you'll be all over it, and all for free so that's definitely beneficial to you. Hope to chat with you more and keep you motivated as you keep others motivated!

Thanks Traci! I've just got to figure out how to work this site but its really cool. I love a challenge, which is good cause weight loss is quite the challenge. But I know I can do it. I really love the weight tickers because its quite the inspiration to see so many people losing the weight! Yay! Keep Going Everyone!!!! Peace, Cathy

Thumbs up Re: Newbies Sign in Here!

Hello all-
My name is Sheila, and I joined over the weekend... but today is the 1st day of my journey to a slimmer and healthier me. I have a great 32 month old son - DJ, who I love like crazy!! When I was pregnant with him I gained almost 100 lbs... (and I wasn't thin to begin with). I lost a mere 15lbs last summer but gained it back over the winter. Now I'm back at it with a vengeance - for sooo many great reasons. My son is very energetic and hard to keep up with at my current weight; my husband has started talking about when we might have another child (which was a shock to me since for some time he's said he only wanted one) and there is no way that I want to become pregnant at my current weight (unhealthy for baby and me)... plus just the over all health reasons and wanting to look and feel better. I'm a bit shy - and don't always get time to use the computer, but I plan on checking in at least a few times a week, and anyone can message me if they'd like. My biggest downfalls are pizza, and not drinking near enough water (not a fan of plain water). Any advice or suggestions are appreciated. As for excercise, it's hard when you're out of shape - but I'm going to try to walk as often as I can, and get some other program going... plus, I clean for my husbands commercial cleaning business 3 nights a week - and that is a work out!!
Hope everyone has a great week!!

I actually started putting on weight after I met my DH, and I wanna get back down as close to my highschool weight as possible.
