Hi Traci and fellow newbies! My name is Nickie and I joined this site about a week ago. Growing up, I was never thin, but I was active in sports and maintained a fairly healthy diet (lots of home cooked, comfort foods though!) After college I moved to a new city and started working out for "something to do," five to six times a week and 25lbs just kinda melted off! The next couple years I maintained the weight loss through continued exercise but pretty much ate whatever I wanted. Long story short, I started slacking off on the workouts for about a year and put 8lbs back on. Since January 1, I have been working out five times a week again but the scale isn't moving! Perhaps the "almost 30 years old" slower matabolism is to blame! Anyway, I decided it was time to get the eating under control. Since starting a food journal last week, I have lost 2lbs. It's amazing how I don't "need" another snack or another helping at dinner when I know I will have to see those calories added up! I'm hoping the more involvement I have on this site and with you all, the more motivation I will have to continue working toward my goal!

hey slimmers, this site is awesome!!! im aj an overweight wife and mother of 3. i have very little support and even less will power. i start and then i stop...i start and then i start...and so my song and dance continues. i joined abt a month or so ago and that was that. during that period of inactivity i gained 3 pounds. then tuesday morning i said enough is enough! these 58 pounds have got to go.

i am trying to jump from a size 18/20 to asize 14, so here i am on day 4 of trying to eat better, exercise daily and drink more h20. i look foward to helping others and receiving much needed support in return. happy slimming!

Hey, my name is Susan and I am 22 years old. Three years ago i was still doing track and field professionally but because of moving and college etc I had to stop and of course I started gaining weight. Three weeks ago i was still 152 lbs but after starting to do some turbo jam and cardio and eating healthier, I already lost 9lbs and i am now down to 143lbs. But to get back to my former shape I still have to lose another 38lbs.
Since I have no idea how any of this here works I hope someone is gonna be able to help me and be my weight loss buddy.

Hello Fellow Slimmers. I am Jenn, a mother of 2 kids ages 8 and almost 2(in June). I just joined this site today and I have a big goal set in my head to lose at least 75lbs. I once was down around 150lbs when I was younger. And I have gained alot of weight over the years. I am in my Mid-30's and have nothing or nobody to blame but myself. My friend Kathy, my sister Barb and I have joined together to try to get some motivation between the 3 of us to try to help lose some weight. Being that I am the heaviest of the 3 of us, my goal is the biggest. So this is where i am asking for any help I can get to get me through this. I have lost like 20lbs before on my own, just watching what I was eating and keeping a daily journal of what I ate and my emotions when I was eating, and at the time it seemed to help. Then my life got all chaotic on me and I couldn't find the time to write things down in my journal. So any help would be greatly appreciated. I really can't do like the South Beach or Atkins diet, I just want to have some motivation and some emotional support to help me get through the rough days and weeks ahead. Thanks.

Alright I have more than 5 minutes to myself...woohoo

Hello and welcome to Katie, Donna, Natalie, Rose, Pat, KAT, Tiffany, Brenda, Camille, Mikayla, Lisa, Audrey, Ashley, Renee, April, Nickie, Michelle, supaTHICK, Susan, Jennifer & Keni

Katie: WTG on the 3lb loss so far. I understand what you mean by having a rewarding but yet exhausting job. Right now I'm on mat leave so it's given me a break to focus more on myself and I'm thankful for that. Hopefully you find exactly what you are looking for here and remember every little step makes a difference!!!!

Donna: 3lbs for you too! Woohoo. I'm actually a new weight watchers client. Been on program 2 weeks now but I do everything online not meetings, which are you doing? I find the flex plan SOOOOOO awesome. Good luck and keep checking in!

Natalie: 7lbs so far, look at you go. Goodbye mr 'wrong' and hello to your new mr right (life)!!! Keep up the great attitude and keep yourself number one for awhile and you'll see that everything will just start to fall into place.

Rose: Girlfriend you are 20 POUNDS down!!!! That's a wicked accomplishment, don't let motivation go anywhere but up, you are doing awesome!!! Your first mini goal reached from what I can see although I might be off by a bit. Just take it a bit at a time, don't get intimidated by what you want your end result to be, set goals for the month only! YOU CAN DO IT. Look what you've done so far!

Pat: 10lbs gone an less than that until your first mini goal, how much does that rock!!!! I know what you mean about taking care of everyone else and forgetting about you...time to make that change and get a little bit of good selfishness going on. You'll get there!

KAT: Well hello there in the UK! Getting on the bike a few times a week will be awesome and gradually you can increase your time out or your route to include a bit more of a challenge for you and soon you'll be well on your way. Good luck and be sure to check in!

Tiffany: Welcome and hello. Soooo you want some friendly competition huh, you can definitely find some of that here. How are you doing so far? I love that your mini goal isn't something completely off the wall like 50 lbs, keep it small and simple for sure. You'll get there...need anything, just message away!

Brenda: Good for you on the 18 years (Im getting married in Sept) AND the job change you want next year. Things to help keep you motivated and going. Abuse this site as much as possible, lots of info and support around if you want it. Unsure about something don't be afraid to ask for help, no stupid questions around this place! Good luck to you and keep checking in.

Camille: If you want to send me a message off this forum I can explain the food journal to you a little bit, unless of course you've got it figured out by now! Hello and welcome anyhow.

Mikayla: Good attitude. Eat less move more is right. And eventually it'll be eat a little more because you move so much! LOL Invest in a pedometer if you don't have one already as I think they are a great first tool motivator to help show you just how much you do move and how to gradually increase it a little more.

Lisa: Hello! Sometimes 5lbs to one person is like 50lbs to another. If you feel you'll feel better at 115 then you go girl. I too am 5'1" but I'm aiming for 145 with a lot of muscle toning and definition and I am so excited to get there.

Audrey: Way to go on the poundage from last year. You go lady!!! As far as too many calories, just try substituting some of the things you love for different variations of the same thing. The obvious ones would be full flavoured to lite or lower cal or something to that effect. I also bought smaller plates in the beginning of my weight loss last year before becoming pregnant and I lost 36lbs and ate 6 times a day. Good luck to you.

Ashley: I have 3 kids too, last one was born premature but so far we've been pretty good with no major problems. Congrats to you for wanting to change yourself to be there for as long as possible for your kids. Send me a private message and I'll get your connected to a Coach ASAP! woohoo for 4lbs already!

Renee: 6lbs down, you GO girl! Might I suggest bringing your mini goal up a bit and going for like 5% loss first. Sometimes if you set a mini goal too far away you tend to intimidate yourself without intending to and your motivation can dwindle a bit. I of course am here for you 150% and will help you in any way that I can so keep it up, keep your motivation straight ahead and just go go go! You'll get there.

April: Hello and welcome. Congratulations on wanting to conceive as well and wanting to change your lifestyle to help in that department. You have fabulous motivational reasons and lots of support etc on here so make sure you use it and the features of the site as well and you'll get there!

Nickie: Yay for maintenance! You'll get there again, you did it last time, you can do it again. Of course 2lbs off already is fabulous for just logging the food and seeing what it is you are in fact eating that you don't "need" throughout the day.

Michelle: I got a timeline for this myself so let's get her done!!! Best advice, log your food intake, create the deficite that you need and get some activity in there. I was told 3 5K runs a week (whether it be a combination of walking/running or not) will help me to drop the weight a lot quicker combined with my weight training at the gym. Looking forward to it!

supaTHICK: Alright AJ...enough is enough is enough is right. Get on this bandwagon and stay on it. LOG the food, DO the activity, give a little bit more than the day before and you WILL get to where you want to be. I'm the QUEEN of excuses and yo-yo weigh ins and this time is it, I'm done with the excuses and my butt is at the gym 5-6 days a week, I'm logging my food and girl, I'm down 5.6lbs in 2 weeks! 'Nuff said!

Susan: Woohoo another Turbo Jam fan. I LOOOOOOOVE Turbo Jam but due to space issues right now I'm at the gym instead of at home doing my Jam. I lost 36lbs in 6 months prior to getting pregnant this last time around and I'm actually doing a Turbo Kick class tomorrow night and I'm really excited.

Jennifer: As much as it's hard to log your food, it's one of the BEST tools you have to help keep your accountable and let you know if you need to eat more in a day or if you are over doing it, USE THE JOURNAL!!! I understand about chaos and stress etc but you gotta start getting a little be selfish or sick reality, you might not ever get the chance and not be around as long as you could be know what I mean. Message me anytime if you need a chin up!

Keni: It's called you had a kid. I swear my body has never been the same since having my first 4 years ago! LOL Best suggestions are to use and abuse this site as much as you can because the more accountable you are on here the better your results will be. As I mentioned to someone earlier, eat less and move more...you'll get there!

Hi. I'm April (there seems to be a bunch of us with that name. Good name! ) and I'm 34. I am married and have been for 8 years, no kids (busy with school and other things, plus I have PCOS which I'm hoping the weight loss will help some).

I keep having many do-over days, but at least each day is a new one to start over and hopefully one will catch. I'd be more than happy to be friended to anyone along the way. I'm very upbeat and supportive. And just glad to be here.
