Hi, I'm Lisa. I have 80 lbs to lose. I'm 41, Married and have two children 18 and 15. I guess in the past years I was too worried about taking care of everyone else and put myself on the back burner. Now it's time for me. When dieting before counting calories and using ww books helped me the most. I lost 59 lbs two years ago but went off the diet when there was a death in the family. So here I am again. Hoping to find someone to buddy up with and looking for a coach.

My name is Melissa. I need to lose about 96 lbs, and have lost weight before successfully but gained weight back. I am trying to eat healthier which I don't mind, I just get tempted by all of the junk and fast food cause it's convenient. I would like someone to buddy up with so we can support each other and root each other on.

Talking Re: Newbies Sign in Here!

Hello everyone
I'm Judy, and I want to lose 25 lb before my 40th birthday at the end of October. I tend towards the inchworm version of weightloss, a little each week, then a few weeks to stabilise, then continuing to lose.

I live in the Morvan National Park in France, surrounded by forest.

I'm looking for buddies who are not afraid to talk straight, are supportive and have a good sense of humour, and ideally like the same things in their buddies.

I love to cook, so will be posting lots of recipes.

I intend to diet using the food combining method, today was just calorie control whilst I got my head around the method.

Wanna be my buddy?

ALRIGHT!!!! So now that I have more than 5 minutes to myself let's see...

Welcome first off to a bunch of newbies. We have Julie, Annie, Telena, Bill, Samantha, Nikki, Maryellen, Debra, Lisa, Melissa and Judy *gasp* LOL

Julie: Gotta love those lunch lady arms. I find some of the best exercises for those are the tricep kickbacks (if you do a search you can find form and visuals for how to do them), skull crushers (at least that's what we call them -- I'll see if i can find what i'm talking about), pushups, body lift ups (off the side of a chair), that kind of stuff seems to be working really well for me. Let me know how it goes.

Annie: The first thing you gotta change is the attitude. You need the can do, going to do attitude instead of the will do one. As much as I'd like to tell you it'll change over night unfortunately sometimes it takes a lot longer. Just take small steps. Logging into buddyslim everyday and being accountable is definitely a step in the right direction, then we take it from there. If you are interested in having a particular individual to be accountable to then just message me privately and I can get you set up with a Coach! Glad you are here, you'll get there.

Telena: Hey girl, welcome welcome! I'm glad that the worst of your prior eating disorder is a thing of the past, leave it there!!!! First things first, go and change your ticker and give yourself a totally realistic MINI GOAL. Yours has your first mini goal at 70lbs from now, that's not a mini goal, that's a lifetime change. Think in term so 5 or 10lbs. We got lots of support around here so don't hesitate to find some!!!!

Bill: Congrats on the 10lb loss to date, way to go on that! Long way to go or not, I'm going to tell you the same thing I have told everyone else...think in smaller more realistic mini goals. Easy gets the job done, intimidation just makes it take forever cause you can't focus. We are very glad to have you here and way to go on logging in and making yourself accountable, another key to getting exactly what you want!!!!

Samantha: Congrats on the baby!!!! I just had my last 3 months ago, they grow so quick. Good luck to you on your weight loss journey. You have a clear goal in mind and know how to get there so now it's just putting it into play -- you can do it

Nikki: YAY to you for not only finding the forums (which are awesome if I do say so myself) but also for wanting to do this the HEALTHY way. So many people get caught up in the 'fad' quick fixes that they don't realise how much damage they in fact do to their bodies. Grab ahold of some buddies for sure and ALWAYS know that you are never ever alone, we are all here, ALLLLLLLL here to help support you along the way!

continuation...

Maryellen: Welcome to the Slim and congats on the marriage. It's always nice to be in a relationship that you hope will go on for years and years and years and definitely one way to make sure it does it to take care of yourself so you CAN enjoy it in years to come. Thumbs up to you for making the step in coming to join us here...here's to MANY years for you two!

Debra: I hear ya! I must tell myself all the time that I really need to lose weight. Having health conditions that usually are a result of extra weight are also just major suck factor, however like I told everyone else on here, you are taking the steps to improve that and hopefully one day you'll be condition free!!!!! Way to go to you for showing up and taking the step to be accountable.

Lisa: Can you send me a private message so I can get you hooked up with a Coach. Thanks. On the note of taking care of everyone else, isn't it funny how easily we fall into that habit??? I am lucky enough that I figured out that it's time to be a bit selfish early on as my kids are 3 and under but I know it's time for me and I need to make the time for me or I won't be here later on to enjoy that time know what I mean. Hi-5 for you for turning that around.

Melissa: Hello and welcome!!! As I told a few people before, get in there and change that mini goal of yours first. Goals are FABULOUS but you want to make smaller ones so that you have something to celebrate along the way for all the small things that lead up to the ultimate goal. Go for something like 5-10 lbs and definitely reward yourself (in a non food related way of course ) when you reach that first 5-10 lbs. You'll do it!!!!

Judy: France? I'm so jealous. I say this because I don't even think I've left the province I live in, in about 10+ years. As far as a buddy who will tell it to you straight, well it's the only way I do it so get me added to your list!!!

I am looking to join a group for motivation and support for weight loss and overall health. I have approximately 75 lbs to lose. I am 32 years old and am 3 weeks into working out and eating healthy. I have hired a personal trainer and do not weigh in every week. I only weigh and get measured every 3-4 weeks, so I will not be able to have a weekly weigh in. If anyone knows of a group for me, please shoot me a message!!!

Thanks, an I look forward to meeting great people here!!!

Hi, my name is Holly and I have a lot of weight to lose, over a hundred pounds, so it seems like a mighty big undertaking! I just found this site by accident but it looks great and I'm glad I did.

I really got motivated to lose weight by watching The Biggest Loser on TV. I know that those folks have the best atmosphere for losing weight and the help of doctors and trainers, but the thing I really loved was the buddy and team support. I can see that its very important, so here I am looking for a buddy and maybe a team to help me be a grand loser!

I have a very busy job and it can be very stressful. I don't have much free time because I'm also studying to be a Homepathic Physician, and I teach and team lead in a Christian 12 Step Recovery Program. I am an emotional eater and I happen to love to cook, and that is not a good combination I guess! I know a lot about nutrition and portion control but the emotions can override a good education, if you let them. I'm feeling very excited about this place and I hope I'll be able to encourage and help someone else along the way too!

Hi, I'm Irma, 29 yrs old and made my decision at the beginning of the year to loose weight by my Birthday. My initial goal was to loose 60lbs by July but weighed myself today and found I just hit my 60 lb mark . I still have about 70lbs to go to make it to 185 by the end of the year. I am now figuring out how this site works and being a newbie, still tripping over some of the tabs here..

Hi my name is Liz,
I started Weight Watchers in August of 06. I lost 50+lbs on it. I love WW but have not been able to attend my meeting's and I am finding it hard to stick with my "new way of life" without the meeting's. Dealing with life's stress's without sticking food into my mouth is very hard. I have gained back 10lbs since Novemeber and I made a vow to myself to STOP!
I hope that by joining this group it will give me the boost that I so need.
Thanks
