Hello, I'm Laura. I live in Maine, and joke about the cold being the reason I keep the few extra layers of fat. I've dieted before, but never stuck to it. This time I'm ready to be serious. I want to lose about 40 lbs, and just feel better about myself in general.

Yay I like seeing this thread busy...

Hello to Robyn, Melissa, Christina, Charity & Laura!!!

Robyn: Don't look at it as 80lbs, go with something that doesn't seem so intimidating, go with 10lbs at a time girl!

Melissa: Yeah most guys I know seem to think that losing weight is easy, what is up with that!!! I also understand how hard it can be to focus on you when you have kids, I myself have 3, all under the age of 4 so I feel your pain.

Christina: That's right. This time you want it to be different, so keep that in the front of your mind and you'll get there. Highschool sweetheart is so cute. I'm getting married in September to mine!

Charity: Oooohh massage therapist...I need one of you! LOL I am a jenny craig weight loss consultant and despite me being able to help all my clients I tend not to apply some things to myself (which I'm now changing) so I understand what that's all about too!

Laura: Awesome goals, 40lbs and feel better. This is definitely a great place to start, once you have the commitment the rest will fall into place!

hey all! My name is Amanda! I need to loose about 20 lbs but of course I would LOVE to loose more! I was pretty slim in HS but then after having 3 knee surgeries and a gall bladder surgery it kinda messed up the whole slimness i once had. I just joined Anytime Fitness. But I always need new workout ideas because i get so bored. If anyone has a good workout routine that they do at the gym PLEASE let me know..Thanks

Cool Re: Newbies Sign in Here!

I'm another newbie I'm not really sure how everything works here - just surfing around. I REALLY REALLY need some support. I'm very discouraged/frustrated. After the birth of my first daughter (who is 8 now) I gained a lot of weight and ended up about 89 lbs overweight. Over the course of YEARS I lost it (I mostly used the slimfast plan which I loved). Then I got prengant again and since my son (now 16 months) has been born I'm now nearly 100 lbs overweight. With both of them I don't gain that much while pregnant - it's all afterward while breastfeeding and everything.

I've tried every diet under the sun and have come to believe it's not about finding the right diet - it's about just taking better care of myself. Time to sleep, eat well and exercise.

I don't mind working out - in fact I love it and do it regularly. However, I am a serious binge eater and have some pretty bad eating habits even though I know better!

Welcome Amanda and Brenda!

Amanda: Yeah I think it can get boring doing the same workout however it seems different for me if I change my playlist on my mp3 player however you don't want to be doing the same workout if it's not intense enough for you to the point that you FEEL like you are doing something. I don't really care much for what I'm doing as long as I'm doing something to further my abilities!!!

Brenda: I love my babies but MAN do I hear you on the weight gain. I still use it as an excuse cause my youngest is 3 months old but really, I had her 10 weeks early so I never really got 'that' big. Am I at my pre-preg weight yet? Nope. I have 10-12lbs to lose to get there and THEN I can start on the stuff from years of abuse to my body. That's the key, never EVER look at it as a 'diet'. I absolutely hate that word. It's a lifestyle change, and once you figure that out and start making the small changes, soon it all changes for the better and things fall into place!

Hello Traci....and yes I am trying to get back on track. I had tons of motivation when I had my second child in August. I started out at 168 lbs. NOW I am down to 202 lbs and I'm stuck in a plateau.....I've lost my motivation and now I'm reaching way down inside to get back on track to get down to my goal weight of 155 lbs. I want to set my wedding date and I refuse to do that until I hit 165 lbs. I'm here to let out my frustrations but at the same time to get criticized because I might be doing something wrong and I need the help from anyone! I'm ready to start fresh and start new! Thanks for the warm welcome and support.

Hey Amanda!!! I am not sure if they would have this in Idaho BUT you should try to ZUMBA! It is international dancing and I am down 66 lbs now. I did hit my plateau but I get a great workout and enjoy dancing anywhere! Zumba Fitness it's really fun and great! try to see if they have a location near you, if not then you should try the video tapes and do them at home! I promise you will love it!

Hi, my name is Carol, I am a 30 yr old married mother of 3 children ages 6, 3, and 2. I am almost 300 lbs, the heaviest I have ever been. I contribute it to staying at home with my kids, lounging around. I want to lose at least 100 ibs. I have been overweight ever since highschool, and I decided enough is enough with all the excuses and lying to myself. I want to enjoy myself and not feel like an old person. It can be difficult to schedule daily exercise, apart from the exercise I do evryday keeping up and taking care of my kids. It is stressful for me right now, because I am trying to find a new job, and this can be time consuming.

Melissa: I hear what you say about an unsupportive husband. Mine comes from the Dominican Republic, and they don't have weight issues down there, so he thinks it's as easy as pie to lose weight. That's why sites like these are so important, to get some extra support outside the home. Good luck on your journey, and don't hesitate to contact me for support.
