Hello! I just joined the site today, and I think it's great so far. I'm the mother of two beautiful little girls, ages 3 and 2. With my life being so crazy I've forgotten to take care of myself. I would absolutely love to lose 20 lbs., but will be happy with even 15! Look forward to getting to know everyone a little better!

Hey, Newbie-tastic....

My names Jen, Im 25 years old from Glasgow in Scotland and I teach sexual health and relationships education to young people (well, younger than me!). Im about to embark on a VLCD (Very Low Calorie Diet) programme which is basically Slimfast for Sadists and is meal replacement with shakes, and soups and bars plus 4 ltrs of water a day.

Its medically monitored, there no alcohol or anything (Ive joined a library to combat the lack of drinking, I'll be the best read person this side of the equator) and theres basically no real food, its more nutrients disguised as food!

But yeah, its going to be a challenge, but Im up for it!

Opps, I didn't know this thread was here or I wouldn't have started a new thread

I stumbled upon this site while using google and thought I'd sign up.

I don't know anyone here, nor do I have friends who are currently trying to lose weight or would use this site. But I signed up anyway cause I might make some friends here and help hold myself accountable. Also it's cool that I can blog, and track calories and exercise, so I think I'll find this site useful.

My BMI is 30 and I believe I'm probably about 50 pounds from where I should be. 30 BMI is considered obese and not just overweight

As I gained weight throughout my 20's I've had less and less confidence in myself and an increasingly poor self-image.

I have very little energy, my blood sugar and blood pressure are both high. So that is some more motivation to get started and stick with it. I don't want to have health problems at my age, or any age in the future.

So I'm looking to turn this all around by finally getting it together for both my mental and physical well being.

I look forward to meeting you all.

Hello. I'm Hannah. I'm sort of new. I was with BuddySlim a year or two ago, but my how it's changed. I've changed too though. I'm in a completly different place now than I was then, in every sense of the word. I'm looking to lose about 10-15lbs. I'm interested in a coach to help me stay accountable. Thanks!

Hi everyone! I am Nicole. I am a 31 yr old mother of three, 2 boys (10 & 8) and 1 girl (7 weeks). I need motivation to lose those pregnancy pounds! I have lost 160 before my little girl so 60 shouldn't seem so impossible but I just need some support and to see motivation/inspiration form all of you guys!

I know we can do it!

Thumbs up Re: Newbies Sign in Here!

OK, I'm signing up. I need a buddy, or several, to help me stay on track and I'll do likewise with them. If there is a group of 50-somethings that would be great. I'm a working mom and wife, but I do take time to exercise M-F and eat pretty well - just have to watch those sweets. The food journal will help me be more aware. I'll get the hang of how the site works. Thanks!!

Hi, my name is Kristi and I am 38 years old, married mother of one 4 year old. I successfully took off the last 10 lbs of pregnancy weight I gained (though I was overweight to begin with) but quickly put it back on when I hurt my foot and was unable to continue running last year. I now need to lose about 40 lbs. be feel really healthy and be the confident, happy mother my daughter deserves. I have started running off and on again but can't quite get the eating under control. I know a lot of my issue is portion size and I have little to no will power right now.

I am also a big emotional/stress/boredom eater and tend to eat when no one is looking because then in my mind I am not really eating. Whacky, I know.

My husband of almost 17 years is tall and thin - he tends to get the spare tire around the middle but can take it off in a matter of months if he puts his mind to it. He really has no clue how difficult weight loss can really be. His mantra now is that we both need to be fit by 40 which for me is October 2009. But I want to be fit sooner than that.

I'd be interested in finding out what a coach might be able to help me with.

Thanks.

Hi everyone. My name is Vilate. I am 24 years old and I have three children. I am very interested in health and nutrition. I know what I need to do but I just can't seem to get myself going. Can you tell me more about the coaches? I need someone who will hold me accountable and offer support and encouragement. I would love to help others as well if I can. I hope to meet many new people who are going through the same thing I am. I am excited to be on my way to a healthier, happier me!

Hi, I am new here and my name is Sandra. I am 22 years old and married to my high school sweetheart David. And I have a beautiful daughter named Emily who will be 2 in September. I have been over weight my entire life and have tried to diet a million times and it just clicked that it is not about a diet... it is about changing my lifestyle. I am very motivated this time because my husband is going to be joining the army and I want to slim down with him and actually take his breath away when he comes back from basic training. I would love to be set up with a coach. Sometimes I just need that extra push to get motivated.
