Default My advice for other newbies

I'm still fairly new myself, but I am having a great experience so far. My advice is, be proactive! I started going through member profiles and reading blogs to find buddies who I thought might be compatible with me, and I have had great success that way! I feel like I have a whole team of people rooting for me, and it's my pleasure to be their cheerleader as well! Don't wait for it to happen! Put up a descriptive profile, write in your blog, and don't be afraid to put yourself out there! I'm telling you, before I joined I was eating like a crazy person and not exercising at all. Now I've joined curves, I'm working out, and I feel better than ever! And it's all due to my motivational friends AND getting fired up watching them achieve their goals, knowing I CAN DO IT TOO!! Good luck! : )
Cheers,
LeeLee

Amen to that Lee-Lee...I think you bring up a very good point, while this is a very good site with a lot of wonderful and supportive people, sometimes you have to go out and reach out for the help.* Blogging is very important.* And patting people in the back is too....when people succeed, congratulate them...because we all like to be patted on the back once in awhile, right?

Absolutely !!!
I also found that the more I help others (or at least try to) - the more it helps me.
In fact, I would say that almost all the benefit/success I get is when I feel like I'm making a positive impact for others.

Yes, Dan, it's sort of putting into practice what you preach....someone has a problem....you give them the solution.....and by verbalizing it, you start putting it into practice into your own life.* It works....I can see how helping others, like you say, can be beneficial to you.

Like I said in my blog, I am just so amazed at this sight.* This has to be the best thing that has ever been on the net.* I wish I could have found this when I first started losing weight.* I am also glad that I am here now because I could really need some support.* I really look forward to logging on to get to know people. I am having a problem though finding some buddies.* I look foward to making new friends who understand what its like to be unhappy!!!*
So I hope that I can meet some cool people to talk to.
Courtnee

I have only been here about a week and already have a few buddies, all of which I searched out. This is a great site and I so agree that this fills what little down time I have so that I don't do so much mindless snacking.
