Default South Beach - anyone?

Hi I'm new here and have just started SBD.

Is anyone else here following SBD and want to share experiences?

thanks

Hi Jackie. I have followed the south beach diet for quite a long time now. Over 3 years off and on. Let me know if you have any questions. I will do my best to answer them. Good luck to you.

Hi Tasha

I don't have any specific questions but it would just be nice to know that there's someone around here who can help if I need it.

I'm on my last day of phase 1. On Thursday I had lost 1.5 kg so I'm pleased with that. I have a regular support group meeting on Thursdays so that will be my weigh-in day.

I don't particularly feel starved of anything although this week is hard as I have my in-laws visiting and they like us to eat out with them every evening. Last night I thought I was playing it safe with a halumi salad - the salad being mainly lettuce, grilled peppers, pine nuts and halumi cheese but it had a pesto dressing with it which was very rich. I felt so sick the whole evening and I could still taste it this morning. It's amazing how one week on the program can curb those tastes.

Any idea what I should have in a chinese restaurant? It's a meat only restaurant - no fish of any kind.

thanks

I can tell you that when I go to the chinese restaurant here, I get the sauteed mushrooms, green beans and I eat Shrimp. If yours doesn't have any shrimp, you can try for some chicken as long as it isn't breaded. Ours also has a grill where you can pick the type of meat you want and they cook it for you. A steak, Chicken breast....I hope you can find something there to stay on plan. good luck to you.

Hi Kimberly

great weight loss
i fell off yesterday - i was put in a foul mood and fell for the comfort food and had pasta and some of the kids left over pizza. i was so upset with myself but more than that i really noticed how it affected my body

i was lethargic all afternoon and my ankles swelled up which is something i haven't had since starting sbd. i managed to get back on track by last night and we went out for dinner with my inlaws and i had salmon and salad. i was pleased that i hadn't fallen completely and managed to pick myself back up immediately.

i agree with you - it's a great plan.
