Hi Nancy I agree with the above about the cancer thing (although practically everything in this world will give you cancer, or so I heard) but those rays are worst and more dangerous than the sun itself because those rays are directly on you. Have you tried any self tanners or bronzers??? those might be helpful T

Can anyone give me advice on tanning beds? I'm not real sure how to use them. I ended up turning red and it burns. Am i doing something wrong? Please help.

Don't do it ! I think they cause cancer. Would you jump in a microwave ? It is the same thing in a tanning bed. Different wavelength. It is your decision though. I wish you well. :-)

What type of skin color do you have. Do you tan easily or burn? Start out slow. I tan easily but I start out doing 7 min a couple of times, then 10 min a couple of times, then 14 a couple of times, then 17 and then the full 20. Once you get that base tan you can go the full time. But to get that base tan you need to go everyday or every other day.

i have sensitive skin & burn easy. why not tan your face, won't it look funny? my face didn't burn. the redness is almost gone now.

tanning beds.....oh, i have succombed to them before! i look and feel so much prettier when my skin is golden brown.....self tanners smell weird.....i don't have that lovely alabaster skin that looks so nice sheilded from the sun! i do, however, agree. i'm not sure i'll resist forever, but just have a look at britanny spears (bless her heart.) i remember watching some show on mtv about her tour bus, and there was this tanning bed and she said "of course! i use it everyday!) and back then she was the prettiest sparkely youthful golden brown that you ever did see.....but the girl looks old now. i don't fear the sun itself though. i try not to let myself lie out like a lizard all day in the summer....god, i wish i could. but i get a little golden brown. it just feels prettier and (to tell you the truth) healthier. the sun is what gives life and warmth to the earth. i will worship the sun forever....aaaaaahhhhh
