A lot of men treat women like dirt, no matter how big or little they are.* But they don't all.* And Becky, Dan and Angie are right.* Sit down and have a talk with him.* Tell him you love and appreciate the fact that he was making your lunch.* Then explain to him the importance of eating foods that are within your range.* Try making out a list*showing specifically what you CAN NOT/WILL NOT eat and what you can/will eat.**Put the list on the fridge, or a cabinet door or someplace conspicuous.* Then ask him to refer to that list when he's cooking.* Just let him know that if it's on the can not/will not list that you won't eat it,*and if it's on the can/will list, you will, period.
Hopefully this helps.

Mine would never "cook" for me so I don't have that problem.* But mine is very supportive of me losing weight and tells me all the time how great I'm doing.* He will never eat anything after 6pm around me to support me.* I think just like everyone has said you need to just talk to him in a loving way and help him to understand.

how often does he actually cook for you? and is it often enough to bother... know what i mean? if its once in a great while... leave it alone... enjoy! but if he does this regularly, you should sit down w/ him and explain your point system.

Good point Paula....My husband and I trade weeks for cooking for the family...One week his turn one week my turn so on and so on.** So when it is his turn to cook he picks out what he wants to cook for the week..This is hard for me because of course it is not what I would normally eat but no big deal I just always try to cook a big thing of veggies and load up on those and have small portions of what he makes...Which is kind of what I did today with the lunch he made me I had the portion size and then added a healthy size portion of veggies...
*
Thank you guys for helping me see the light...lol

Default Help!!

Okay buddies,* I know all of you if not most of you have had this problem or experience.** So I put this question out to all of you in hopes of* some good insight.
*
Last night my husband informed me that he was cooking me lunch that night to take for work the next day..I became very concerned and a little stressed so I asked him if he was making* me a healthy meal that would be within my points range all the while trying not to sound ungreatful....He wouldn't tell me at first but I finally got it out of him..He made me a pasta dish sorta like a cold pasta salad but from a box not from scratch.** I tried to get him to understand my concerns and he told me if it was to many points that I could just throw it out..
*
It wound up being 4 pts for 3/4 cup* not too bad...What I did was add a bunch of fresh vegies to it.* But what I want to know from all of you is this...How can I get him to understand that if he wants to cook a dish for me then I need it to be with in my guide lines of what I can eat?***
*
Is this considered a food pusher?** It would be easier to handle the situation if it were at a party or something like that when the dish wasn't specificaly(sp?) made for me out of the kindness of the heart.

Wow...there are husbands that cook?
Okay, anyway, I don't have that problem, lol, since my DH won't even cook his own food, lol...but my suggestion is to just simply tell him what you need. Maybe teach him how to calculate points if necessary. Tell him that you love him and*you're so grateful to have a hubby who will support you on the journey. And hey, maybe if he figures enough points, he will see how easy it can be to lose weight?

Good luck. Let us know what you decide.
Hugs,
Angie

Just ask (nicely).
It shouldn't be a big deal.* It wouldn't be a big deal if my gf asked me and I would be afraid to ask her.

My last boyfriend was a real big asshole and treated me like crap, he always would tell me that I was disgusting and my legs were fat but then take me out to Shari's for a burger and fries or something... I think they know exactly what they are doing, they are so insecure about themselves and think that if you realize what you are worth you will drop them and find someone else.* I don't know your husbands directly or anything, also not trying* to say they are as bad as my ex or bad people but now that I have met a man that knows how to treat a lady it makes me soo angry to see these beautiful, good hearted women be with men that don't treat them the way they DESERVE.* I hope your men straighten their attitudes out and give you the support and love you*all need.* I think men don't realize that we women aren't as visual as they are towards the opposite sex (or same sometimes!) I know most women would much rather be with a fat but good hearted man who treats them like a princess then a model who treated them like garbage.
