I got a weight loss hypnosis tape a few years ago.* I tried really hard.* I'd lock the doors, turn off the lights and concentrate really hard.* I played that tape over and over and over.* It didn't work.* It might for somebody else, but it didn't work for me.* Maybe cuz I'm just so blasted stubborn!!!

Maybe I am closed minded, but hypnosis is too spooky for me. What if you end up robbing a bank or something? Something where you do not have control of your own mind is a little freaky.

I've very seriously considered it but haven't tried it. I know from your previous threads that you're looking for an easy out on this weight thing--and if you just have a couple of pounds to lose, you might find it...
Unfortunately, most of us are here at Buddy Slim because we've realized that there is not an easy way. You have to diet and exercise--and stick to it for life--if you want to lose and maintain that loss of weight. I know it's not what you wanted to hear--BELIEVE ME, I know...because I still secretly wish there was an easy way out. Short of surgery, I've learned, there isn't--and from what I hear, surgery's no piece of cake either.
I suggest that you try Weight Watchers or a similar program. This is the most "real" program I've found out there, and the healthiest by far.
Good luck to you and if you need a buddy, let me know!
Hugs,
Angie

There was a thread a while back on this same topic and I think someone had some MP3's you could download (that were specific hypnosis tracks for weight loss).

Hypnosis is (yet another) tool, and there are good & back aspects to it.* The good part is that it (supposedly) helps you make changes at a subconscious level.* Since I've been overweight my whole life and was never really able to make it permanent until now, I can speak from experience that this is the #1 thing that has to happen for the change to be permanent and really become 'who you are'. If you don't change at the subconscious level, you will constantly be struggling with your own mind and body and eventually you revert to the old behaviors because they're just too deeply ingrained in your subconscious.

Do you need hypnosis to make this happen ?* No.* But take any help you can get it, including hypnosis, meditation, workout partners, friends, family (including getting rid of friends or avoiding family that can't support you)

So, what's the downside ?* First, there are a lot of people selling hypnosis services and CDs for an exorbitant amount of money (thousands of dollars) and they're just there to make money.* Most of them require cash up front and offer no guarantees, and in fact, hypnosis alone probably won't be a miracle cure.* I would avoid going this route.*

It's a little bit like the infomercials for the 'MAX BUTT TONER 2000' or whatever else they're selling.* All of these things work, but only if you use them and the truth is, you don't really need any machine to help you lose weight.* But if you do use it, it will probably accelerate your weight loss and tone you up quicker.* If you don't use it almost everyday, it's just wasted money. Kinda the same w/hypnosis.

Send me a msg and I'll see if I can send you MP3's or a CD if you want.* You can probably also scan Craigs list and/or Ebay and get a CD for cheap (though you don't know the source or quality) you'll at least get a taste of what it's like and if you think it's something that will help.

BTW, I like your self-portrait too.

I tried it, and it has worked....* I focused on choosing which foods I wanted to stay away from when I went.* I really focused on chocolate.* I went 2 months ago, and haven't had any chocolate since.* That's a big deal for me and my sweet tooth!* I also had her focus in on making me feel the need to exercise after work when I don't normally have the energy.* I have been going to the gym a lot more often.** I don't see much of a difference yet with my weight, but what I really had her focus on, did seem to work
