Default So you've lost the weight..now what?

I often find myself wondering what my reaction will be when I loose the weight. I have spent all of my life struggling with weight, I can't imagine a life without that struggle. I think that is a huge factor in my*sabatoging myself over the years, I'm used to the struggle. It's like an old friend, not a good friend, but an old one. It will be very odd to not wake up carring that burden. Does anyone else think about these things, or am I just that nuerotic?

Paula's right.* The struggle will never end.* We'll always be fighting to stay at our goal weight.* But I think that fight will be a little easier than the fight to get there.

I have never thought of this.* There is just the constant struggle.* "Today will be better, I will stay on track" self talk.* (I think about it every night when I evaluate the day.) And I always cave in for one reason or another.* Sticking to a eating plan has been a key I never have found. I envy people who are normal and wonder why on earth was I so lucky to be the one over weight.* The whole Why Me???

Yep...I'm with everyone--I feel like no matter how thin I get, I'll always struggle to stay that way...so technically this old "friend" (or pain in the ass as I like to call it, lol) will never leave us. Bummer, right?

Of course everyone thinks and dreams about being not burdened down with extra weight.* I can't wait until I can cross my legs again!

For what it's worth, I actually disagree with everyone.

It's not a destination or that something will happen 'when you get there'.

It's a journey and when your new habits/lifestyle takeover, that is 'who you are'.* Granted it takes a long time to get to that state, but once you've made the change, there is no struggle and you don't think about things 'When I lose xxx lbs'.* I think the biggest problem is that all of us have a part of us that does not want to change and that part of us fights back very strongly (this is probably the cause of the struggle) but if you accept the fact the YOU HAVE TO CHANGE the struggle goes away.* If you don't change (on the inside) nothing will change on the outside.*

I was pretty much heavy since I was a kid, but I've had periods where I lost weight & gained it back (like everyone else I suppose).
I've currently lost 50 lbs and kept it off for almost a year.
