Default What's your weakness?

SLOW MOVING CHOCOLATE OR SWEETS If it can't run away - it might as well be doing the dance of the seven veils and singing the siren's song to the sailors. I do not keep any in the house and hate the checkout line at grocery stores. I am a social eater. I have many friends - chocolate ice cream, chocolate cake, cookies, chocolate bars, cocoa. I am reminded of a holiday card by Sandra Boynton. It says May the holidays find you surrounded by your loved ones. On the inside is one of her classic hippos - with chocolate smeared all over it's face and hands and all around is chocolate wrappers and cookies and cake containers. If you've never seen her book Chocolate, The Consuming Passion - I recommend you reserve it at the library. I say get it at the libaray because this is not a book you want around the house. It will increase the volume of that siren's song luring sailors to crash on the rocks - or binge on that 2 lb bar. If you just want to see the cover and joke on the back - go to Amazon - they show the cover there. Here is a quote from her book regarding Carob - and the section on White Chocolate is just as funny "Carob is a brown powder made from the pulverized fruit of a Mediterranean evergreen. Some consider carob an adequate substitute for chocolate because it has some similar nutrients (calcium, phosphorus), and because it can, when combined with vegetable fat and sugar, be made to approximate the color and consistency of chocolate. Of course, the same arguments can as persuasively be made in favor of dirt. " Okay - I'm also an emotional eater. I never met a chocolate that didn't fill that empty inside for a few moments. I want to eat chocolate when I'm sad. I want to eat chocolate when I'm depressed. And when I'm angry at my husband I want to charge chocolate on the credit card! I want to eat chocolate when I'm paying the bills. I want to eat chocolate when I'm lonely. I want to eat chocolate when I'm happy. I want to eat chocolate when I'm celebrating. I want to eat chocolate when I have one hand free. I have left instructions that chocolate be served at my funeral. But it must be on a table at the far end of the room. I just had a thought. They said you can't take it with you. I think I'm going to try. How many chocolate bars do you think it would take to fill a coffin? Oh wait. I plan to be cremated. Better make it M&M's.

Default RE: What's your weakness?

My weakness is: - sausages (my solution, turkey sausage or making my own) - bacon (my solution, peameal!) - Chicken Wings (my solution, I make my own and oven bake them) - Pizza (my solution, I order it once a week or once every two weeks and share with friends) - Grocery shopping for all the wrong things (my solution, I use Grocery Gateway http://www.grocerygateway.com/ so then I shop, save the basket, go back a few days later and I can stream line my cart!) My other weaknesses are: - cosmetics - cosmeceuticals - need to be centre of attention - 3" or taller heels - Shopping for clothes that are en vogue - Craigslist and bargain hunting on ebay. BTW, that's how I'm able to support my cosmetic fetish, my shoe AND clothes fetish and still be able to eat!

I’m an emotional eater too. I eat when I’m happy or sad or depressed or for any reason. I’m a lifetime member of Weight Watchers so I’ve learned how to identify these things about myself and also how to combat them. I still eat for any reason, I’ve just learned how to eat better foods or foods with less calories. Don’t get me wrong though. I need my Cold Stone Creamery fix every now and again! lol 

Emotional Eater--that's me. I tend to eat even when I'm not hungry. My weakness-anything that tastes good lol. My whole family is that way. We love sweets, soul food, eating out, any bad habit you can name we do it. I have controlled it pretty good since I've started my diet. I still have sweets just in moderation. My goal is to limit treats to once a week.

That's unfair you say that you like to eat any foods that taste good. I feel sad for you, you make it sound that because you're eating healthy, your food is not so tasty!!! We need to help you discover the world of food that tastes good.
Discovering the flavour inherit in fresh produce was a huge eye opener for me. Plus, the discovery that I can make my favorite foods at home without it tasting like bad! Namely WINGS!

I find that stress and being alone trigger my eating habits. When I am with my family, everything is fine.

I don't have a food weakness. I just choose not to exercise, which is really bad.
