Question Does anyone have this problem?

I've been doing great with my eating, but I still have one problem.. I always eat while I'm cooking. I'll have a little taste here, a little taste there, and before I know it I'm full, and the meal isn't even done yet. Does anyone have, or has had, the same problem? If anyone has any tips to help stop this, please let me know! Thanks (:

I pick less at the food when I keep the lid on and keep it covered. I will also eat less when I am using utensils to cook the food that I cannot reasonably eat off of like a spatula. Also, if you can have someone in the kitchen to talk to and distract you. I will also just walk out and leave the kitchen so I am not standing there bored and hungry.

I am definantly guilty of that one....i found that one of the best ways to stop doing anything is to replace the habit with another....have something ready to do once you start cooking...for example-crochet,dusting/cleaning,homework,folding clothes, make jewelery,crafting.....anything to keep your mind distracted and hands busy....the time will fly by!! good luck!!

I do this all the time. Part of having to cook is having to taste to make sure you don't screw anything up.

What's helped me not eat while cooking (and in general) is just eating plain and basic foods. A plain chicken breast cooking on the grill doesn't really inspire you to snack on it, same with plain brown rice. But on days when I make hummus, look out, I'll "taste" half of it before it's ready.

Make sure you are eating snacks between meals. Also you may want to before you get hungry.
