300 lb. (+) Club
I love all my buddies, but let's face it...those of us that weigh more have our own special problems when it comes to weight loss.* I mean, I know that anybody that*has 25, 50, 75 lbs to lose are fighting a battle.* But the battle for us larger people is quite different.* We can't exercise as vigorously as our smaller buddies.* And our social battles are different.* We have battle scars that are goiing to*take a long time to heal.* We have been rediculed and made fun of.* And we've been humiliated.
If you've never gone to a restaurant and been led to a booth only to find that you don't fit...if you've never gotten on a ride at an amusement park and had to get off because the safety bar (or straps) won't fasten...if you've never gotten on a plane and had to ask for a seatbelt extender...if you've never started through a turnstile and found you didn't fit...if you've never tried to go into a toilet stall and couldn't make it...if you've never gotten in a car and found the seatbelt doesn't fit...if you've never been told you can't do something because you're too big, then you can't understand the hardships some of us have witnessed firsthand.
Our larger statures make it a lot harder for us.* We can't exercise effectively because we can't move like*our smaller buddies*can.* And because our goal is so far away, we get discouraged and frustrated a lot easier.
I'd never belittle the problems others have had in their battle to lose weight, and I will not nor cannot turn my back on my current buddies, but I would like to offer a special invitation to those that understand where I'm coming from to join in a special support group.* All we have to do is buddy-up and give each other the extra support we need.
