Yeah...eating six smaller meals a day kinda helps, but not really because when I binge I often am not even remotely hungry. I just have this void that I want to fill. I have been known to binge on a full stomach even. To the point that when I lay down to sleep I can feel the food rise in my throat and it's just disgusting. Binging for me is completely a mental/emotional thing for me. Oftentimes I don't even really like what it is I'm binging on...now how silly is that?
I said something to that effect about 40 pages ago, how I start on something, but end up with anything... it all tastes the same after a while, like nothing, just going for that overstuffed feeling...

Thanks for those 2 articals Tatiana. I may need a few binge-stopping ideas for tonight. My sinus is infected again.... 3rd time in a month. And I've cramps... so bad, I swear.. it's how I imagine labour pains are. Last night in my last lecture they started. I actually thought I was going to pass out with the pain. I couldnt manage the bus home after so stayed at my bfs house. Because of the sinus infection I was awake until about 3am. When I eventually got to sleep, he woke me up saying it sounded like I was choking (which I kinda was... thanks to the infection)... that was at 5am. so I'm at work now on 2 hours sleep.

Tiredness and stress are major binge triggers for me. Because I'm so tired, I'm feeling a bit low aswell... another trigger. Today will be ok food-wise, because I actually feel too tired to eat... but when I get home tonight, it's going to be rough. Guys, whatever inspiration and motivation and support ye can give me today to stop me binging tonight would be really appreciated.
the only thing that ever really stops me from a tired binge is sleep, but sometimes I can avert it by being REALLY busy... something that sux when you are already tired... is a nap a possibility? I lay down "starving" and wake up full... but when I can't nap.... well, the binge monster chases me all night!

Catrina, it's a small belly dance class once a week. I need to practice more. Having wide hips and big breasts is an advantage in belly dance, believe it or not. I have a few DVDs and they are fun too. And it's a great workout. Works your abs, core, and legs. Add some "snake" arms and you have a full body workout.

Little Flower, except going to bed and sleeping (and you can't due to sinus infection), what else can you do to relax? Can you write a little poem about surviving a night without a binge? Can you go look through your closet and pull out things you want to wear soon? Can you give yourself a manicure? Brush your hair for 15 minutes, slowly and with attention to a nice sensation in your head? Can you give yourself a foot massage with nicely smelling oil?

I find that simply beautifying myself SOMETIMES replaces the urge to binge.

Tina, I am glad you found the article useful. I was struggling with this "never again" mentality and felt ashamed because I fail. Now I see some little positive steps on the way to healing.

Kama, how are you doing honey?

Well, I went to STarbucks yesterday with the idea to see if those pumpkin empanadas are even in stock this year. Last year I put on 20 pounds or so eating one a day! They are loaded in calories and fat and it was quite deceiving. Anyhow, I haven't seen them and I do still dream about them once in awhile, but when I was there to ask about them, I didn't want one, I think I was there just inquiring if they were going to be back in stock so if I did want one, I could come and get one hahaha. Well, guess what????? They no longer carry them anymore! I think I am going to be able to survive the holiday season now! This was a big worry for me that I would go in and eat ONE, and then suddenly be hooked all over again. Now, I don't need to even wonder because they just don't exist anymore!!! Yay!!!! So, I had a half caff with nonfat milk, happy as a lark!

I wish I had read this forum yesterday. I woke up at 2:30 am and was just dragging all day yesterday. It felt like the only solution to feeling better was to eat something. I knew I didn't have time for a nap which was how we ended up at Starbucks haha. I did good tho and woke up and got motivated and completed my walk yesterday and actually did well with eating!

yeah, I'm all up in the "baby steps" thing... so the article was cool, cuz there was validation that even though I'm not "there", I'm definitly on my way.

Thanks for all the info you dig up!

Tatiana: I agree with beautifying yourself replaces the urge for me to binge too. It is a fleeting moment and if we don't act on the impulse to eat something yummy, it will be gone very quickly and I love the feeling I get from not acting on it. I have acted on the binge impulse a bit lately and it does make me feel like I let myself down.

Funny how you mention belly dancing! I have seen on Fit TV they have a half an hour show where they teach you how to do it! I want to learn it but there's always people up walking around in my living room hahaha and that's a pretty intimate dance. But, I think I can record it and do it when they are gone or asleep haha.

yum... I'm all up in to my homemade skim latte... cheap, easy, and hardly any calories! Once in a while I'll spend the 2.75 to get one at Sheetz, they can froth the skim milk... at home... not so much!

Well, alright....I have a confession. Above I posted how I didn't get any starbucks yesterday and how I was going to be fine this season. Well, I truly thought I was. But, I forgot about........my husband. He knows how much I love pumpkin treats and he brought me a pumpkin cream cheese muffin. And, of course I ate it. Not only that, but he brought me another one too, but I am letting my daughter have it. I think one pumpkin cream cheese muffin for the season is plenty! Now, I am probably for sure gonna lose the longest loser! Well, I didn't stop there at that....I ate some chicharones (pig skins). Don't ask me why either because I am not fond of them.

What are we going to do with me??? Well, I guess I had better plan lots of exercising tomorrow now!

I have a latte machine too somewhere in the garage. I just need to get it out. It'd be fun to start indulging on those fun treats at home! It's a lot cheaper!
