I heard a good quote on Intervention last night. ____ is his drug of choice, he is YOUR drug of choice. About co-dependence. I notice that a lot of bigger people, if not primarily addicted to food, are addicted to someone else's addiction. I pretty much am a "fixer", and when that's not going well, I'm an "eater".

This is good, I know I am a fixer, too.

How are we doing?
Doing better at not binging, woke up last nite, craving ANYTHING sweet. Was able to quiet it with a banana.

Health Tip: Satisfying Food Cravings

Allow yourself a little to prevent eating a lot

(HealthDay News) - Food cravings are common, and most people have them at one time or another.
The Cleveland Clinic offers these facts to help you satisfy your cravings without wrecking your weight:
  • Satisfying a food craving can help improve your mood, relax you and give you more energy.
  • Women are likely to crave certain foods during certain times of the year and month, and are more likely to be happy when they've satisfied their cravings.
  • Don't deny yourself something that you are craving. Instead, allow yourself a small portion.
  • Denying yourself a small treat that you crave can lead to an intensified craving, and eventually binge eating.
  • Take care of your craving shortly after it starts. The more time you have to think about it, the stronger the craving probably becomes and the more likely you are to binge eat.
I thought this might be helpful

nice job!

i am doing so much better today! i think mondays are tough for me. i remember this now from when austin was smaller. after the weekend busy-ness plus having dad's help, mondays we are all tired and worn out with just me around. that was always a big binge day before. should add that to the triggers for me.
mondays.

yesterday was rough, I kept wanting "something" all day, nothing I ate seemed to satisfy me. I was mainly just tired and pms-y (they go hand in hand for me) I went for groceries after work, well, just for potatoes for dinner, I had gotten everything else the day before, and I wanted dark chocolate covered almonds in THE WORST WAY, but I knew if I got a package, that I would eat them all, so I settled for a hershey's w/almonds, I'm not too fond of milk chocolate, but... Anyway, I ate about half, and gave the rest to my daughter. That seemed to make me FEEL a lot better... I wish that food didn't make me FEEL any way, just hungry and not hungry, but, no such luck... Anyway, after shopping, cooking, dishes, etc... I ended up having a piece of cake... then another, and another, and another...luckily it was a "healthy" cake that I had made, with lots of fiber and veggies (yeah, veggies, lol) but still... I probably could have survived without 4 pieces of cake last night. On to today.... STILL tired, been yawning since I got up, I can't wait till 5, I'm so going to take a nap after work!

Hi. God knows I am a fixer too!!!! I am an adult child of an alcoholic. I was an only child and a bartender at the age of 5 for my mom. She'd come in depressed and instantly I would take on her feelings. I think of myself as a chameleon still to this day. If my hubby's angry, or sad or sick, then it makes me feel so badly! I try to cheer everyone up when they are not feeling well, and I feel it personally when I can't cure their bad feelings. I will eat at the frustration. My mom got sober in October 1980, and just celebrated 28 years of sobriety! I still have so much baggage from her drunken years to work out!!! Binging was there for me when she wasn't and it's really hard to let it go!!!
