hey buds!

long lost binger here. been doing okay - not eating the greatest but no HUGE binges. We've had a couple of rougher nights with fussy baby for housrs and that totally leads to 2 things: sleep deprivation plus loss of confidence. then those things lead straight to the pantry/fridge...i am working on that right now and may be giving up dairy...
been trying to turn the tv off early or not turn it on and just get to bed if i can.
also, making sure i get a shower a day - that has been at night and replaces some of the night eats, too...

we'll see...

tina sounds like you made it thru yesterday well! love your pillow story!

dara, good luck - you have done it so far, i bet you will be okay. what other ways do you measure your self besides the scale? i'm finding the way clothes fit to be a good measure for me right now.

tatiana, i can't do the countdown thing either, it sets up a binge for me. i find that allowing some little mini binges lets me be ok not over indulging regularly. also, make sure you watch that exercising to compensate for food thing or over exercising- you gotta find some other outlets, you know? that way if the exercise gets taken away fro any reason you'll be ok. also your bod can only take so much did you find a good counselor?

little flower - just read your blog but couldn't reply - what a great energy you have today!!

ok gotta run!

hang in there everyone!

Debbie!!!! I saw your blog too!! Great to have you back girlie. Sounds like you're doing great even at this early stage. I can remember when my baby sister had collick.... nothing worked for her... we just had to let her scream herself hoarse until she felt better. Nothing worse. I know how helpless you feel when it happens. But it's normal. Sure, you had it with your other baby didnt you say? So none of this losing confidence ok? Sounds like you're doing a fantastic job.

Tina - ha ha my bf is losing his soft places to lay his head on me as well! I've taken to laying my head on his belly now because it's gotten a bit squishy in the past few weeks. He broke his wrist and had to give the gym a rest for a few weeks and his belly went a bit flabby!

Thanks guys for the encouragement.
Tatiana, the nurtitionist told me to eat 1150cal. a day and only burn 250cal. a day. Neither of those suggestions sounded good to me. I tried to do what she said for a couple of weeks, but it didn't work.

I've been dealing with this for so long and have tried so many things. That's why I refer to it as the gofer that you have to beat down when it rears its ugly head.

I believe that with anything I read, or anyone I speak to, if I can get even one pearl of wisdom or insight than pretty soon I'll have a pearl necklace. Everyone is at different places in their journey. What I get from this thread is the comfort of knowing that I'm not the only one going through this.

I borrowed this from the intuitive eating support forum:

7. Honor Your Feelings Without Using Food Find ways to comfort , nurture, distract, and resolve your issues without using food. Anxiety, loneliness, boredom, anger are emotions we all experience throughout life. Each has its own trigger, and each has its own appeasement. Food won't fix any of these feelings. It may comfort for the short term, distract from the pain, or even numb you into a food hangover. But food won't solve the problem. If anything, eating for an emotional hunger will only make you feel worse in the long run. You'll ultimately have to deal with the source of the emotion, as well as the discomfort of overeating.

I think it applies quite nicely here.

No bingeing yesterday. Again, woke up hungry, not sick and bloated.

Debbie, good to see you here! It's amazing how fast you lost weight and got down to a pre-pregnancy start weight.

Dara, I agree, it was bad advice to eat AND exercise so little.

Annia, one day at a time is how I take it.

Stacey, where are you?

Tina, good luck with the day three!

Kama, wow, look how well you are doing with eating and exercising. You make your dad proud. ((KAMA))

Sorry, no day three for you Tina. Stay away from counting. Don't bend your fingers... LOL!

What's so cool about this thread is that we see that people have different strategies in dealing with binges. No judgment for anything as long as it works. And no failure either, just an adjustment if it doesn't work. It's like weaving Dara's perl necklace of wisdom.

I don't know how many days I went without binges. I just like to wake up not feeling sick and bloated. It's a nice feeling. I need to remember that at night when I think about stuffing myself with food.
