wow I never thought of it like that. My drinking actually got worse as my food binging got less. I was trading off. Wow.... I'll have to be extra vigilent now to maintain a balance so I dont slip into either a food or a wine binge.

Girls, drinking is like eating liquid calories and getting the same numbness, warmth, and high ... almost the same type of hangover.

Women tend to drink alone, in secret. They are closet drinkers... sounds familiar? It's like bingeing.

Sarah, I am so happy to see you back. Please, don't leave and check in often. I came to rely on you to be here and continue to work through binge cycling with me. I am selfish, I know.

Debbie, are you finding some peace of mind finally? I am glad the binges are absent from your life at the moment. You enjoy what you eat mommy, ok? Just enjoy food, relaxation, and your growing belly. You are up for quite a big task - labor, and then nursing an infant. Be kind to yourself.

Kama, when I have more time, I will respond to your suggestion to brainstorm ideas on relieving stress. OK?

I am so busy with my relatives visiting and I am not being here constantly.
I hope everyone is doing things with respect to bodies, with kindness, and forgiveness.

so hard isn't it? i can binge on alcohol as well. haven't in a super long time - pregnant certainly helps! but, yes, going to the core of the binging personality...i've alwsay been a sprinter rather than a long-distance runner, you know? fast and furious! it feels the same to me...

As much as my friends all hate me for it, I don't get drinking hangovers, no matter how much I drink/ how fast/ for how long. Food (especially sugars), however set me up for a BIG TIME hangover... I think that's how my drinking originally got so bad, it never interfered with my life... I never felt like crap and after drinking till 2:30, I was up by 6 without the alarm... ready for the day. That's (in hindsight) a VERY BAD reaction to have to a night of heavy drinking.

So, last night I couldn't get enough food to feel, um, happy? idk, it wasn't my tummy that was as hungry as my mind/mouth... I shoulda popped in a piece of gum.... or sucked down some water... but chose not to...

I so need to get back up on that wagon... unfortunately, I'm refusing to even chase after it... I'm just sitting here on my a$$ watching it head down the road...

I guess the good part of this story is that I know there's a problem, and I have to tools to fix it... I'm just not motivated for some reason.

Tina, you don't have to start catching the wagon that runs downhill. You may just want to get up and start walking slowly uphill. The wagon will turn around and will follow YOU. You are in charge. You choose where the wagon goes.

What is your first step to get out of binge/alcohol state? Do you start drinking more water? Taking a bath, listening to the music, calling your best friend? Looking at dresses and pictures of you? Buying healthy food and cleaning up your kitchen from unhealthy foods?

What is the first healthy thought that comes into your mind and motivates you to take care of your body?

I see you lost 25 pounds and gained tons of wisdom and strength. It's not going downhill, it's yours to use.

Glad you are posting. I have been there binge-wise and I know how important it is to write down what's happening and then change it.

Hang in there.

No binges but I am not recording the food. I eat treats every day. And I exercise a lot and move a lot. Still losing weight though. 152 pounds. Only 3 more pounds and I'd reach my mini-goal. The land of 140s that was escaping me for 10 years.

Let's see if I can continue with "normal", diet-absent life and reach my mini-goal.

Hi all, I want you all to know I really had a battle with myself last nite, wanted to binge on ANYTHING! But I resisted.
Not doing as bad, today, either, even though it is my break day, I am reminding myself to stay in control.

Good job, Kama! Break day shouldn't be out of control day, huh? How are you reminding yourself? Talking, writing, distracting?
