All my clothes are falling off me. I am in need of serious shopping girls. So funny because three weeks ago I stopped recording my food, ate sweets in Vegas, and basically ate what I wanted but without bingeing. Little did I know that I was still losing weight. I mean, I don't do all the "diet" stuff with tracking and counting and avoiding. I am just living life without any guilt. Size 10 is too big! 153 pounds this morning and still losing! Eat chocolate (just a little) every day!

However, I do exercise every day. My life is so crazily busy with relatives visiting and work piling up.

Am I normal now? It blows my mind away. I really don't pay attention to discipline and restrictions.

Anyway, just wanted to share that while I don't fixate on thinking that I have a problem of binge eating, I really DO NOT HAVE a problem with binge eating. Wonders.

Does anyone else find that they like to reward themselves with a good few days by cheating on a random night? How do you get out of the habit of giving in after a few days? I do SO much better when I start fresh and I'm strong (no binge, between 1200-1500 calories, etc) for like 2-3 days. Usually the 4th/5th day hits and I am good all day. Then, at night, all I can think about is binging. "I have been so good, I missed these foods, I deserve it, etc. etc." I think that a lot of my binge eating has nothing to do with emotional things that are going on day-to-day-- I think that I resent the fact that other people can eat whatever they want and I can't. So I give myself a night to be "normal," which is NEVER normal, because naturally skinny people don't have 1,200 calorie binges within a two hour period. Any advice for how to counteract that 4th/5th day longing? It gets obsessive and is all I can think about. Argh!

I am constantly binge eating then starving myself. I think it's about realising that you can eat whatever you want, just in moderation. I think I binge when I deny myself food, as you panic when you think you can never eat foods you like again. But realising you can eat what you want, in moderation, when you are hungry, I mean if we all ate whatever we wanted when we were hungry and then stopped immediately when we were full, we would probably all lose weight anyway, no matter what we were eating!

Tatiana... I get like that sometimes, it's a weird feeling, eh? I lost 50 lbs several years back just like that... ate whatever, whenever... only when hungry, no binges... the weight fell off.... then something happened that started the whole cycle again

right now, I'm getting back in tune with hungry, satiated, full, and uh-oh....
(again) I always try to stop before full... cuz takes me a while 4 all to register and if I wait till my tummy says full... 15 min later it's uh-oh... usually if I stop within a bite or 2 of satiated, 10-15 min later I am full,

the less I overeat, the less I think about it and the less I'm driven to that compulsion... but it only takes once to get the cravings back...

I think a normal person might say, "Hey, when I eat a large and a small frozen yogurt it sets me up to keep eating so I better not do that anymore."
BUT, I don't have that 'normal' quality when it comes to food so over the years I've had to pray, search, box out, box in, tweak, cry, you name it.

One thing I can say about me is that I don't give up and I keep searching and growing.

I'm thinking the cookies need to be out of your house for awhile. Only you will know if they are a box out food or a box in food.
Well, it seemed like it to me. Yeah, I was thinking maybe they DO need to be out of the house.

I can relate to this. I'm usually good from Monday - Wednesday after binging at the weekend. Then on Wednesday afternoon I start to crave the foods that cause me to binge. They stay in my head until I eventually give in on Thursday or Friday and I get them in and eat them. Which in turn sets me up for another weekend of binging.

I broke the cycle this weekend. I didnt binge for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I'm now on my 4th day being binge free. I think it comes down to breaking the cycle. But to do that, you have to be mentally ready to do it. I was last weekend. Something in my head "snapped" and I just decided I was sick of feeling so bad about myself when I binged. I mean, I just asked myself "what's the point?" So I'm aiming to go 90 days, giving myself little rewards every 10 days on plan and also when I reach wieght mini-goals.

There is lots of really good advice on this, plus people sharing the same problem of binge eating as I have.

I absolutely agree with Little Flower that you have to break the cycle. I am going to get myself some luxury style bath stuff today and a face mask and when I want to binge I will put on the face pack (the type that cracks if you move your mouth) and draw a bath. Then I can lie back and relax and listen to music. With me, I have the reward thing in my head relating to food. I "reward" myself with something nice if I've achieved something, or I feel I need a lift, or basically any excuse. I know this stems from my childhood. Now I will reward myself with pampering; something I've not done too much of since I became the size of a zeppelin.

Has anyone had any success with this strategy?

I'm going to stock up on those types of face masks too. They feel really nice when they're on. So relaxing. At least then if I'm doing something else, I wont feel like eating.

Tonight my strategy is to put on some fake tan after the gym. I have to stay in my room until it dries, which normally takes around 20 minutes. So I'll put it on when I feel hungry and then stay in my room drinking water until it dries.... binge averted!
