hey there,

first off - congrats!

i am pregnant, too, and have done much research and talking to my docs about it. basically, you can't lose when you're pregnant and depending on your size your weight gain could be healthy between 20-35 lbs. talk to you doc!!! working out is usually ok as long as you aren't out of breath or too hot. if you are then baby is. again., talk to your doc's office - it is hard to change tracks when you want to lose weight, but the baby needs new nutrients not just the old stuff that's in our bods. first trimester is always a little up and down as many women get sick. take your prenatal vitamins, too

hey
congrats on the pregnancy.
when i was pregnant with my first one i only gained like 12 pounds, becouse i lost so much weight in the first trimester. I just ate better and lived healthier and it still came off. i could fit in my jeans two days after kayleigh was born.
just the change in lifestile did it for me.

Congrats!

I too am with Debbie, I'm 16 weeks along! Definitely talk to your doc! That is first and foremost! Don't over-exert yourself, and if you don't feel good - don't push yourself to excercise. I have gone through absolutely horrible morning sickness, to the point I've losed almost 20 pounds since becoming pregnant... but my doc knows whats going on. I'm also diabetic, which really makes it challenging! I have yet to start excercising again like I was before, because I am still very prone to bouts of nausea.

Most important of all is to listen to your body. Deb's right, don't let your heartrate get too high as it can hurt the baby. Do some research online, try baby furniture health fitness pregnancy at fitbaby.com to find out good zones for your heartrate.

Again, please check with your doc as well!

Good luck to you!

hi just my two cents..... i had a friend that was overweight when she got pregnant. she didnt gain a single pound during the pregnancy but she ate healthy always. she was very careful with her amounts of eating and had a healthy pregnancy and baby. the drs were mad at her but she said she just listened to her body and ATE HEALTHY -- can't fault her for that!
if you are overweight, the weight the drs want you to gain for your pregnancy is less than if you are at a healthy weight to start (~26 pounds if you are not overweight but ~15 is ok if you are overweight.)
