Default Insomnia?

I know sleep is vital to good health and weight loss and all that good stuff. I try to sleep, but most nights I'll just lay in bed for hours before giving it up and getting up. How do I put the insomnia monster to bed without relying on drugs?

I know what you mean. I get to sleep but I wake up every two hours...almost like clockwork!

Jennifer, I was just telling Lyssa about this thing I read recently to try. You go through your entire day (not judging) but more like listing from get up till go to sleep. Some where in there you may fall asleep. I was stuck on midmorning for like an hour with my mind racing and I finally passed out around lunch the other night when i couldn't sleep. who knows, let me know if it works for you!

i've also heard you can get up and do something you really don't like to do like mop the floors or something like that.

i have to really watch what i eat before bed and no caffeine for me after noon or i can't sleep. chocolate messes me up at night as well.

i also can't talk too much right before bed as i get all energized. i only read the funnies at night, too. i'm sure if i was reading a text book that would knock me out...
Good luck! I know it's so hard with no sleep!

And, meditation fixes just about everything - now if i could just get myself to do that...
