Default Therapy trick to avoid eating unhealthy

So I'm in graduate school to become a psychologist and one of the perks is that I gets lots of therapeutic advice - presumably to help me with client of coarse! Today, Bill O'Hanlan, a short-term solutions-oriented therapist (famous!) came to our school and gave an 8 hour workshop. The therapy is all about baby steps and changing our everyday patterns in order to solve the problem.
One of the most applicable suggestions of the day was to eat all*unhealthy with your non-dominant hand (for most of us, our left hands) and all healthy foods with our dominant hands. This causes us to eat the unhealthy food slower because*it's not as easy and also to*pay more attention to the unhealthy things we are eating. This would help to avoid the bag of chips/cookies/etc. on your lap that mysteriously dissapeer when you don't remember eating them at all. *
Another suggestion that worked for one of his clients, was to eat all bad meals naked, in front of a full-length mirror. This is only suggested if you live alone, but would also deter you from eating unhealthily. I think if I were to do this, I'd never eat again, but I intend on trying the left-handed trick!

Wow, I'm definitely going to try the hand thing but the whole eating naked is frightening. As it is, if I wear a V-neck I sometimes find crumbs in my cleavage. I don't even want to think about getting crumbs in my belly button or god knows what else!

Great tips! I'm going to try the "non-dominant hand" technique.
