Cool Plateau??

I've been up and down the same 10 lbs, and it seems like no matter how hard I work out I still can't get into the 170's. I supposed maybe I need to cut my calories even more, but less than 1400 seems wrong. ANyone have a hard plateau and got over it?? I'm thankful that I've maintained my weight loss, but I feel like I am working harder now than at 300 lbs and can't get anywhere. I have a whole new respect for people who lose those last pounds, its a killer!

Hi Tina, I am stuck too....started at 215, joined BuddySlim at 180 and made it to 175 and there I am....up 2 lbs down, two lbs up... 5, down 5 up it's been months and I'm still 175. I am trying to keep it below 1500 a day, exercise regularly and pretty much keep it the same so why has the loss stopped? This is the first time in 40 years that I have pretty much kept it off and not yo-yo'ed bgack up (plus some) and I refuse to give up. I guess I will have to grit my teeth and try 1200 a day and see if that works.

Oh, big hugs!

This happened to me too. Here's what I did......

1. Increased my consumption of water

2. Zig zagged my calories. One day I would eat 1,300 calories, then the next day I would eat 1,400 calories.

3. Kept a food journal just to make sure I was not going over.

4. Started weight training 2 times a week and kept up the cardio.

5. I did cut down to 1,300 calories near the very end of my weight loss journey.

6. Increased the intensity of my cardio and varied my cardio eat day

Hang in there, K?

I know you can and will read your goal

Dunno if it will work, but have you tried redistributing your calories? In other words, making sure you eat more earlier in the day and less in the evening?

one of the biggest myths around is the no eating after 8pm rule. usually when people are hitting plateau's (which some people mistaken their plateau's as well) it's due to not eating enough calories or not changing up their routine enough.

i'd be interested to hear how many of you have broken the plateaus!
