Unhappy Please help

I've started this working out and dieting (lifestyle change) about 3 days ago. Only yesterday did I decide to even consider watching my calorie intake. Today I decided to put in everything I put in my face, in the food counter here on this site. It's not even 2 o'clock in the afternoon and I have consumed nearly 1,000 calories. 888 to be specific. Holy crap, I realize on the front page it said the net goal was to have a net of -250 to -750 calories a day. I didn't even eat dinner yet, or a snack cause I forsee myself getting hungry. I'm apauled at this, I tried so hard to eat well.

I'm not a calorie counter, but that doesn't sound so bad. Just have a small snack - 100 cal and then a 500 cal dinner. Do you know how many calories you were consuming before? Also, check out the blogs - there is one from yesterday where Angie (sangelic) describes her whole diet plan and she teaches you how to count the calories based your weight! Don't despair too much it's all a work in progress Just logging it is HUGE in my mind!!

best!!

That's not so bad at all. You need to consume at least 1200 calories a day or your body will go into starvation mode. You need to calculate how many calories your body actually needs and then aim for at least 500 cal less a day. And if you go over a bit with your eating, then compensate by doing some cardio to burn it off.

Here's what I do: figure out how many calories I get for the day and the plan it out. I try to keep my breakfast to 300 calories, a snack for 100, lunch is 400, snack is 100 and then the rest goes for dinner. If you break it down it will force you to consider what you're eating because you want it to fill you up and make you feel good. I eat a lot of veggie patties (Morning Star makes them) because they're only 80 calories and a great snack or you can add it with your breakfast. Try to eat a lot of fiber too because you'll be full longer. Best of all, I promise you're going to feel better. It's working for me.

Its alright! Its good enough that you are willing to seek help this way. I would suggest, drinking a sip of water for every time you take a bite of food. It may seem that things are a bit out of hand, but remember it is mind over matter. Every day, try to reduce calorie intake. Remember, small things like m&ms matter and can affect your diet.

Its better to eat more for breakfast, that way you can burn it off during the day and you will feel full throughout the day.

Here is a link that is very useful. You'd be surprised. Most people think they need a lot less calories per day than they really do to lose weight.
