Amanda,

Let us know how you are doing!

Jennifer, glad you are better!

Sandy, where are you?
Ellie, hi - nice to see you!

I'm back from holiday travels and needing to get back in gear! Water, water, water, and back to my exercises. Did ok over the holidays, ate too much on 24th, 25th but otherwise okay and even hopped on my sis-in-law's elliptical so I'm not too bad off, but will need to work hard these next few days to get another 2 down!!!!

Glad to be home with big dog Moses.

HAppy Happy!

Ellie, Jennifer, Debbie...

I seem to be "cheating" all the time! And I haven't even started an actual regime yet!!! I don't exercise, and though I've made the effort to cut back on my continual snacking, I get hungry and binge again I don't seem to be going anywhere with this. I (finally) got a scale, and I don't go anywhere. If anything, I'm up a pound then back down (which I don't count)... I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M DOING!!!

ladies, i'm so tired and sad. my lyla, the blue-eyed husky, was bleeding when i got home today i JUST got back from the emergency vet, it's 1am here. she has a laceration on her pad and they cant staple or stitch it. they wrapped it and after 2 days i'm supposed to remove the bandage but still keep it dry for 3 weeks! OMG what a way to spend my holiday break. seems like there is something major every christmas holiday.

Ellie,

So sorry to hear about your poochie! I tend to fall apart when my furry freinds are hurt - that LOVE is so huge! BIG *hugs* for you!!!

Amanda,

I'm a binger, too, and I find that deprivation def makes it worse so I am not thinking that way this time around. I'm trying to add in more physical activity, more water, and choosing what I keep in the house. I'm practicing trying a little bit of this or that and sometimes it works. I have found that blogging helps - i do that when i feel like binging and it has really helped. For me, alot of the overeating is emotional and attempting to get nurturance or something like that. Sleep is key for me as is getting outside everyday or opening up the windows even if it's cold out. Start tiny and things will change. Pick one thing everyday to do for yourself - like have a glass of water in the morning, write one blog, walk around the block, little! And keep trying! Last night the popcorn and my binging side won, but today I will try again...

BIG *hugs* for you, too!!!

peace out,
deb

Ellie, I'm sorry to hear about your dog. I hope she's doing better.

Amanda, I agree with Debbie. Baby steps are the key to long term success. I've been struggling to get my weight under control for years. I kept just trying to jump into it and was surprised and angry when I failed. I'm not sure exactly what changed, but it was like I woke up one morning and said to myself, "one step at a time is the way to do this." The first thing I tackled was my lack of physical activity, then what I eat, then the way I eat (my body has weird schedule for getting hungry). I started with physical activity first because that's what was easiest for me. Just remember to take it slowly and you'll do fine.

Jennifer,

I so hear what you are saying about jumping in and then getting angry. I think what I am learning most is that it is gradual and slow and that's okay. If I look closely I can see the little changes...some days I need a microscope!

Today my login weight is 165, so I'm down 10 from my original 175, but not yet 10 for our group. I think that's 161 0r 160. I'm going to keep plugging along!!!!!

Ellie, how's your doggie?

Amanda, You hanging in there?

Sandy, where are you?????????

best,
deb
