That is a wonderful idea. and I think we should all post our goals again, or compile a list of everyone's goals and put them up in a single post.

Oh, and what does everyone think of creating a birthday list? that way we can do the 'happy birthday' thing and provide extra love and support to those (including myself) that have a hard time resisting all the birthday goodies.

Hello all! I don't have a dog, but my daughter is almost two and fully "walkable" LOL. As for the birthday thing, mine was December 8 but that's not my problem... it's Christmas and Easter that do me in!!!

I also suffer from "evening snacking", poor water intake, and a collection of other issues!

For 10 lbs by Jan 20... Is that a reasonable goal for me? I've always had a hard time sticking to diets and healthy eating and I don't really workout or anything... Plus, I don't have a scale yet!!

Welcome Amanda! You are very welcome to join us and can think of walking with your 2yo as we do dog walking, especially if it is nice weather to get out. My 2yo LOVES to be outside!

Jen, try Target or some place like that for little weights. You can also use stuff around your house like canned veggies or i was doing bicep curls with this really heavy pot/lid we have (a dutch oven). you can take a normal pot and put cans inside, too.

My bday was Nov 11

Today's challenges are:

25 Oblique crunches
25 Reverse Lunges
Talk about how BuddySlim is working for you!

Post-up your goals again for the week.

Group goals:
10 lbs by Jan 20 (or whatever is safe, smart, and your own goal)
3 dog walks a week that are more than the usual
curb the night-time snacking. (i am failing right now on this - let's make a real challenge out of it somehow!!!)

And, Ellie, can you put the challenges on Sat-Tues, I'll be out of town.

Walk on dog girls!

debbie

How will we know when it's someone's birthday? Mine is Feb. 29th so this one coming up will be my 17th. And the only one until 2012. My sweetie and I were married on my birthday too, so he has no excuse if he forgets. My goals for this week are; no 'sneaky snacking', (that means only snacks that are planned ahead and entered into my food journal. It's the sneaky ones that do me in), water aerobics three mornings a week, and every time I go shopping I park far away from the door. If the weather is not too bad I'll walk the dogs, but right now it's pretty stormy. If I am diligent I should weigh at least 174 by Sat. and that's good enough for me. See you all later... ps Welcome Amanda!

Thanks Sandy! And Debbie, could you describe how to do each of the exercises? I'm a little new at this whole "healthy living" thing...

my goals for the week are going to have to be light. I went to the doctor yesterday and he told me that i've got a viral infection in the soft tissue in my chest.

1/2 hour dog walks
1/2 hour of yoga or pilates everyday
and whatever the challenge of the day is

And I have this great deck of cards that has all kinds of different exercises on it. So I'll do that too.

I never thought of using canned veggies. That's a great idea. Thanks for the advice.
