I have been a big Diet Coke drinker for ages. I gave it up a couple of weeks ago for water. I drink some juice flavored waters too, they are pretty good, and special K has a protein water. It is new and I'm not sure what I think of it yet. Supposed to help suppress appetite. About 4 years ago, I was having severe gall bladder attacks. Stopped drinking diet coke for awhile, and it minimized it for a little while longer. I still ended up having it out, but I did notice how badly diet coke aggrivated it. Took a drink on an empty stomach one day and it put me into a horrible attack.

I have been a Diet Coke drinker.. like many of you, pretty much forever. I adore it... I drink 2-3 cans a day.. has to be a can. My 3 1/2 yr old gets a small portion of it a day, he is a milk drinker (2-3L/day) so this little taste, isn't too bad. My husband used to drink 2-3 Litres of COKE a day (did I mention he is thin?!?!) I moved him on to Diet Coke... yay... however... how do I stop? Do I want to stop? I drink Crystal Lite as well.. (Just put out the pink Lemonade singles and I am drinking one now! The Lemon-Lime are my other favourite)...however these just don't cut it in my diet coke fix. I, too, use it in the morning, instead of coffee. It is my instant "Pick me up".... does anyone know if scientifically it keeps weight on, or prevents loss? Does it need to go away for good? I am not looking to replace it with anything.. I do love drinking water.. but my diet coke.. well.. "ol' faithful", is she doing me more harm?

A report/study came out of Purdue University saying that artificial sweetners such as in Coke actually at first makes you hungry & then slows down your metabolism. I've completely cut out Coke for years & it's helped out tremendously. Good move & good riddens to soda!

See.. I find I don't want to eat at all when I drink diet coke.. ...and my metabolism wasn't working long before the DC lol My obsession is bad.. everytime I go to Vegas, I Hit Coke world and buy all the clothes with Diet Coke on them and the accessories.. lol.. ok.. admittedly pathetic.

However Arnie, I am really glad this is working for you.. guess I need to bite the bullet!!

My local grocery store has a sparkling water called Tava.. it has the same feel as soda but it's pretty much sparkling water and juice flavors. It tastes really good too--and no calories!
