The article that motivated me to drop diet soda stated that the acidity of soda encouraged your body to develop fat tissues to protect itself. Also, for the same amount of food, the caffeinated person will release far more insulin into their blood than the non-caffeinated person. Insulin, while vital to survival, hardens arteries, and makes it hard to lose weight. Also, the current theory is that perpetually high levels on insulin can eventually lead to type-2 diabetes.

Honestly, I'm not sure. I've never had a taste for green tea.

I have been addicted to Diet Coke for 15 years. (Tab before Diet Coke). People laugh when I say I am addicted to Diet Coke. It is my morning start up drink. I have managed to cut down to just 2 a day. Lately, I read something about putting a cucumber in your water if you don't like lemon. The girl at my office says it is wonderful but I can't get the courage to try it. Flavored ice teas. Good Luck

Diet Coke has actually started messing with my stomach I think. I have had it since I was about 12 or so.....for about 20 years and the other day it literally made me sick. I am going to do some serious cutting down before it does some serious damage

I've been stocking up on that vitamin water stuff (it's really good) and also, I've been drinking the Diet White Tea from Lipton with the raspberry flavor. It's really tasty. I'm a very big pop drinker and it sucks because my body has come to depend on that boost of caffine every day and if I don't get that caffine, all hell breaks loose.

Hey!! I drink Crystal Light singles too. There's even knock offs that you can sometimes find for much cheaper. From my experience the taste is no different. I've also done lemons or limes in my water jug.

Diet Coke is my favorite too! Must be a trend here I have quit cold turkey (what a headache). It was really giving me some stomach issues. I've been making sun tea, crystal light (love all the flavors) and water. The Crystal light come in single serves too which is great cause you can just carry them in your purse and buy a bottle of water if you are on the go. I don't mind drinking water but its nice to have a mix of things to try.
