Default New here and need help!

Hey everyone, I just found this site and I need your help! I'm desperate and don't know what to do. If I don't lose some weight I am going to die. I just don't know where to begin and I need someone to push me, motivate me, talk to me... I don't have any friends and my family won't support me in my weight loss journey. Is there anyone out there?????????

Hi Misty--You need to make an exercise and eating plan, and then stick to it no matter what. As you know, there is no magic cure or quick fix to weight loss. I have found that it helps a lot to use an online journal to track everything I eat as you would be surprised at how many calories are in a lot of the foods we eat. Next, you might want to consider joining one of the fitness or weight challenge groups on this site. It is amazing how much support is out there and being part of a team keeps you accountable--as you are not just letting yourself down, but the whole team if you don't stick with your plan. welcome! like Molly said, you have to come up with a plan of attack and stick to it. there aren't any quick fix or shortcuts..may work but then comes right back. I do south beach. I am teaching myself the right kinds of foods to eat..and most importantly..I move! no matter what it is..walking 15min a day around the block, or 2miles at the gym, or walking in the pool with my son, or household chores..the key is to get moving and eat right.
honestly we all know what we are supposed to eat. everyone knows you shouldn't eat sugary sweets or fast food..
everyone knows veggies and fruits and healthy all natural stuff is the right thing. water not soft drinks..etc etc.

Misty; thank you so much for your courage to reach out! Try not to stress out too much. I understand you are afraid and that's okay. I think there is a healthy fear that motivates us to change (like the fear that pushed my husband and I to both quit smoking a few months ago). But, don't let it overtake you. We all know that stress makes it harder to stick to our guns and make healthy eating choices. There are definitely wonderful people here to walk it out with you. You can do it. It takes time and longterm changes, but you will get healthier. We all will!
