Get out with everybody else and set you mind to NOT eating. If possible, take your own low-cal healthy snacks to munch on. Staying in your room will only depress you..

Darla, you have to want to overcome it first. Go out and make friends. You can do it! I agree with Mary, get something healthy and take it with you.

Darla,
don\'t be afraid to join the others in a group activity, just tell yourself that you aren\'t going to eat just anything, because others are doing it. I\'m learning this from my friend. I\'ve always had a problem with my weight, and I\'m finally losing instead of being at the yo yo stage where I within ten pounds for a year, now my friend joined tops and lost 40 pounds in something like five months, and that motivated me to try harder. So now when I go somewhere I usually pass on what they have to eat, because it is not healthy for me.
I know it\'s hard to do, but it does get easier, just put it in your mind that you aren\'t going to snack on what they have, maybe you could suggest to the nursing home to have a fruit tray or something at these events, not all the time but at least three times a week. Don\'t be afraid to make suggestions to the others as well expecially if you have a kitchen in each unit.
I hope this helps you!!!!
Mona

It is a very common site for me these days to bring my own food to social events...I learned...
So until your will power gets stronger, bring you own, low cal, healthy food to the socializing!!! You may even encourage others to have healthier get togethers!!!
