Default how do you motivate yourself?

I really am not looking forward to getting on my treadmill when I get home.. I'm kinda getting bored with it but not bored enough to where I would rather do something else like a workout movie or bike.* I like the fact that I can burn more calories in less time by running also..* How do you all motivate yourselves to just get up and do your workout especially on days where you don't want to?*** My house is going to be smellin' good because we put a roast in the crock pot so that is going to be so hard to work out when I really want to just** out**

I constantly ask myself "What do you really want ?" all throughout the day.
This helps me focus on the bigger (longer term) picture, which is motivating.
I agree, it's easy to lose motivation when you focus on the shorter term picture (ie the less than exciting hour or so on a treadmill).* The longer term benefits outweigh the short term drudgery of having to work out.
Though Ihave to admit, I really don't like it all that much, I just do it.

At some point, this does get easier! HONEST...

You just have to want the hot body, more then the Pot Roast, and really, only YOU can motivate yourself to make that change...

I agree with what everyone has said.* I have to talk to myself all through my workout telling myself I can do this and how good I will feel with myself when I'm done with it.* If I don't workout I feel terrible about myself and wish I had done it so I try to remember those things and "JUST DO IT".* It will be worth it afterwards and you'll feel great!* Only you can really motivate yourself.

I know what you mean.* Sometimes exercise is just plain boring.* BUT....how many times have we in the past just sat around bored eating food mechanically?* Wouldn't you rather be bored working out and going towards your goal then bored gaining weight?* One thing I try to do is mix up the workout routines.* Instead of walking on a treadmill, I will go outside for a brisk walk or even a bike ride.* I got a heart rate monitor a few*weeks ago and it has really helped motivate me to keep my heart rate at the right rate for weight loss....so it's kinda like a game.* I also joined a small group to exercise with a couple times a week.* It is so much more fun working out with other people!* One thing I have to keep reminding myself during hard workouts is that the pain is only for that moment, after I am done,*the pain will stop but the feeling of accomplishment carries me through the rest of the day.** Also, a good motivator is trying on all those clothes that used to fit but now are way to baggy!

I've now used exercise as my outlet instead of food, so I want to exercise.* Sounds weird, but its true.* I also make a pact to do it 3x at least a week.* I finally found something I LOVE to do (curves) and its my time to get away from dh, dd, and ds.* I also went with a girlfriend for a while, so that helped a lot in the beginning, to have an accountability partner.* But now its just a habit, just stick it through, and soon it will be a habit.

Oh one more thing, I reward myself after my workout with a great cup of cofee, curves is right next to this coffee shop I love.
And shopping is also a great reward!
