Default Buddy Cruise?!?!?!

I was commenting on a buddy's blog and thinking... "It would be great to*meet her"**and it struck me*I wonder how many other*buddies have thought the same thing and would like to*meet as a group.* It seems like it would take our buddy experience even*deeper.**

The first thing that came to my mind was a Cruise!* So, this forum posting is just a feeler to see how many buddies might be interested in going on a cruise or selecting some exciting place*somewhere in the Continental USA to hop a plain, train or automobile and meet (I was thinking it would be open to the buddy & whatever family or friends they want to bring).*

Richard Simmons does it every year... why can't we?!

I'd love to hear what you all think!

Actually, it sounds great! I was suppose to meet Jo in Chicago to support her for her marathon but the hotels were too! too!* expensive.* I'm talkin' $400 a night so I am not going to make it.* But I was looking so forward to meeting her.* I think it's a great idea.

I love the idea, but I don't know that I'd be able to get away long enough to do it...then again, there's also the expense. Let us know if you find a good deal somewhere and we'll see if we can get this done. Can I bring my kids?? LOL...

Cathy, I think thats a great idea!
*
We could at least get some basic information, and then see who would be interested...
*
I know a few other boards I have visited hold a reunion of sorts once a year, in different locations too, so people can meet one another...
*
I think that would be fun too!!!
*
Good idea! I would love to meet you guys!

Dawn

I love the idea of meeting you all, You are like family to me.* Sometimes I think you guys know me better than anyone else...I would love to take a cruise..but honestly...there is way to much food, but yet at the same time they have wonderful gyms, and dances all night long. Love the idea, would like to know more on what everyone else thinks of this.* Even if you put 10-20 a wk. away until the end of next July. *

I was thinking that*if we selected a cruise of some sort, we could find a 3 day cruise during the late summer of 2007 & this would allow buddies to individually book their cabins and decide whether they wanted to combine the trip*with their*their family*vacation (and/or) buddies might want to*contact*other buddies directly and make arrangements to*share a cabin.
*
I'm just throwing the idea out there right now, but if there is enough interest then I will do a little research and get some possible trip options & preliminary cabin costs... the good thing about cruises are that you only have to worry about the cabin cost, tips & taxes... all the food is free and you can decide whether you want to pay for special land excursions.*
*
Tanae... $400 for one night at a hotel in Chicago is more than an entire cruise might cost (per person).* I stayed in a hotel in downtown Chicago last year and it cost much less, so I think the*timing must really be a factor.... When push comes to shove you can stay in the subarbs at a*Super 8*or Fairmont Inn*for far less money* you'll just have to drive into the city*and pay for parking.***
