Amen! For me, there are quite a few people... the people who were alittle nicer a few pounds ago, my family and some friends who cant seem to stop cracking fat jokes, asking "what happened to you?", the boyfriend who used to be a bit more attentive, and mostly myself! I want to be able to tell myself "HA HA! LOOK IM BACK!! THOUGHT U COULDNT!"*I want to be able to feel silly for loosing hope in myself once...

Default Who is that one person...

In your life, that when you reach goal, you hope to come across so that you can show them that you did it...To "rub it in their face" so to speak???
Some of you may not find this motivation at all, and I do understand that...But* some of you might, and like me, might be able to channel that negative energy into a positive outcome...
We all have that one person in our lives who treated us differently because of our weight or in some cases even made rude, un neccessary comments about it...Heck, in some cases it was more than one person!!!
And I won't lie, when I see my person again, if ever, I will delight in the awed reaction and ask for forgivness after!
So for me, its an ex-boss, who seemed to think because I was over weight, that I was also lazy, and because I couldnt wear the cute litttle short skirts that he preferred his female co-workers to wear, that I was somehow less than human...
So someday, I hope to run across him, and maybe then I wont be so angry...Maybe,* I will be able to look at him and Thank him for being rude, becuase he too played a part in my decision to finally let the weight go...
Do any of you have some you would like to share????
*

Oh Dawn, you opened up a can of worms with this one!!!
Let's see...all those interviews I went to in Arkansas where they looked me in the eye and TOLD me they couldn't hire me cuz*I was too fat!!!* Yeah, they did and they got away with it cuz nobody else was there to hear it.
And two of my sisters.* They've*made rude remarks behind my back*on more than one occasion about me*being fat (even though one of them is almost as big as me).
And I have one 'favorite' uncle who really cut me to the core. *At my Grandfather's funeral when I was about 22 and only weighed 175 lbs. he told me that if I lost some weight, Farah Faucet wouldn't have a thing on me.* What's with that?* Just because I had a few extra pounds on me, I couldn't be pretty?* And on me 175 is pretty good! *Needless to say, he's not my favorite uncle any more.

Oh I know exactly who you are talking about.* My oldest cousin, who one day decided to try to trick me and told me that Jenny was on the phone (my sister's name is jenny)* and then said Jenny Craig!* What an a@@.* I haven't seen him in years and I don't know if I really want to see him again.* I don't know if I ever will see him again since I don't really like him.* Oh well.
Wow that kinda feels good!

I know this sounds dumb~** but all those people who only look on the outside of a person~* and not the inside of a person.* People ecspecially men really irk me when they only gawk at the outside of a person.* So i would rub it in there face just to get back at them~* To me theres more to a person than just the outside

Hey Hillary, that was some good venting!
These boards are great therapy!!!! And much cheaper then my current therapist!
Is'nt great to say whatever pops in your head and know that at least one person here will get it, and most likely, SEVERAL folks will?!?!
I say you hunt that cousin down in about 6 months and give them a what for, or a giant KISS MY A@@!!!

Sometimes God will send someone in your life, maybe just for a moment to spark something, maybe an awareness*in your spirit where others have failed to do so. Sometimes we don't pay attention to the positive words *of our loved ones, but will pay closer attention to strangers that don't mean a thing to us. Dawn picked that up when she realized her boss was a blessing, because of his rudeness, opened up an awareness in her spirit that was everlasting.

Hmm o.k. I have to question this one....* Not all men look at a woman on the outside and think that is the whole package.. I know lots of men are really into looks and*well if you don't know a person of course that is a first impression..* However Shelly.. I'll say that those same people will probably love it for you to rub it in their face when you are skinny.. Well because that is what they are looking for anyway! * But please don't put all men in that category...

As a person who was not born into mainstream "American" culture, who*has always been in a racial classification of "other", I have to approach this forum from another more serious perspective.**I hope that it is received with the care and concern that it is presented.
Whether it is weight, education, class, race, ethnicity, religion, etc, etc.... our lives will always have people in it that do*not supportive and/or are down right unsupportive.* If we hang on to our resentment of those who have mistreated us in one form or another, it is generally not a motivator, but actually a source of emotional frustration, which can lead to both negative physical & emotional health and actually demotivate us.*
I know that it is difficult to let past hurts go, but it is much healthier to focus on those people who bless your life and provide positive motivation.* When I reach my goals... those will be the people that I share my success with, because the others aren't spending any time thinking about whether I succeed or fail, so I will not spend any of my time or mental energy thinking about how what I do might affect them.
Just another perspective to consider*
*
