Hi Robin,
Good idea for suggestions. I am on a tight budget too so I know that the common advice from weight loss experts*to buy yourself a new outfit or accessory every time you reach a goal is simply not realistic for many people. A few ideas I have (as a single working mother, so some of these may not apply to you) are: taking a day or part of a day off from work for leisure or lounging by myself; renting a movie from Blockbuster or a good book from the public library; spending $10 from my paycheck that I might have otherwise spent on junk food (if I wasn't eating healthy) on something I want, even if it is just a deposit for an item and is set aside; and going for a nature walk. If you have any other ideas, I'd love to hear them too!

I've started a charm bracelet.* I have about 165 lbs. more*to lose.* I*just lost my first 20 lbs. and bought my first charm (my husband is buying the bracelet for me).* For every 20 lbs. I lose I'll buy another charm for my bracelet.* They're not expensive, or at least don't have to be.* And, you can put your change in a jar every day and have enough for a charm by the time you lose your set amount.* If you don't have as much weight to lose, then*buy a new charm*for every 5-10 lbs. you lose.* I set mine at 20 lbs. cuz at 5 - 10 lbs.*I'd end up with too many charms!!

Default Reward Ideas

I am looking for others to share some ideas for rewards when they achieve small successes.* Things you enjoy doing and don't cost alot of money.* Thanks!

Just another note.* Micheal bought my bracelet today...little interlocking hearts that go all the way around with a puffed heart charm already attached. *(He spent a bit more on it than I would have!)* And,*they put my froggie on it right there in the store.* I wore it out of the store and still have it on, and*it made me think about something.* The thing*is, if I wear it all the time, it's a constant reminder of my goals and how far I've come so far!* I feel the charms tapping against my wrist, and and hear them clicking against each other, and it reminds me of the reason I'm wearing it.* So, it will become an incentive to keep on the right track.* Now isn't that a double reward?* I get a new charm for every 20 lbs I lose, and*it keeps reminding me of the reason I got it in the first place.
