Can You Win at Weight Loss?

Remember the childhood game Pin the Tail on the Donkey? The children that were good at the game took time before beginning play to memorize the image of the donkey and to plan out the route they would need to take in order to get the tail pinned on the donkey in the correct place. Which isn't a bad plan for your weight-loss efforts, either. So how about a little game of Pin the Goal on Yourself?
Make a Game of Weight Loss
Step 1: Imagine the weight-loss goal that you want to achieve. What will achieving that goal feel like?
Step 2: Explore the good feelings that are associated with reaching that outcome. In other words, what will it feel like to be at your weight goal. What types of things will you then be able to do? What reward will you give yourself for meeting your weight-loss goals?
Step 3: Keep those good feelings in mind as you continue to try to achieve your weight-loss goal. Practice behaviors that will help you reach success. Picture your target each time you feel yourself straying. And continue to push toward your goal, even when you can't see what obstacles are in front of you.
With a little imagination and a bit of childhood inspiration, achieving your weight-loss goals can be a game of Pin the Goal on Yourself. You won't be able to see where you're going as you play the game, but keeping the end goal in your mind's eye will show you the way to success!
