when you get up in the morning you must exercise right away if you don't you have that hanging over your head all day long, then you keep saying your going to exercise then you don't. You need to find something you can do rain or shine, I got a treadmill, and it works for me. I just do it for 30 min 3 times a week, I work as a nurse so I try to keep busy, I take the long way around the nurse station to the pt room, or get all pt ice water, anything to keep me busy I think of it as "weight lose" as long as I move, something has to be coming off. diets have not worked for me I just started to cut back, and try following the glycemic index, a doctor spoke of this way before south beach etc.. and it dose work, you can get the book, its called the glycemic index and load at barnes and noble, it just gives you list of food to choose from that are low glucose foods, there are a lot of choices, for example its okay to eat peanut M&M's and fritos, Its a different way to look at diets, and it is actually how other countries eat, except the United States. (and we must be doing something wrong because we are all so fat) It just gets hard to stick to any type of "diet" more than 12 days, but we must , what would you rather do diet for the next 5 years? or just stick to a diet for 3 -4 months faithfully????? Get out there and get started, its only going to take longer the more you sit around thinking about it, because sitting and thinking dose not work for anyone. or we would all be thin.

There's usually more to weight gain than we realize. For me, it was easy to find the cause. I have always struggled to stay thin, but it has never been so hard for me as in the past year, and the scale shows it. I've gained a good 25 pounds in the past year and I kept wondering WHAT IS GOING ON?? Finally, when I spoke to my nutritionist about it, she asked me what had changed and I said nothing. Then she asked if I had had any emotional upheavals, and I realized, it was my grandmother's battle with cancer, and then her untimely passing, that started it all. It was -- and still is -- devastating to me that she is gone, and I've been smothering those emotions with food. For some people, the cause goes back much further, maybe even to childhood, and it may be harder to find. And even having found it, I'm not "cured." But it does help me to put my behaviors into perspective. Other than that, finding some really good suport definitely helps. This place has been great for me. I worked out for the first time in months right after joining -- that's motivation! Best of luck to you, just remember something everybody keeps reminding me of - the beginning is HARD! These eating habits won't disappear overnight, but it's just important too not give up! You can do it!
