My goal for this week is to lose 2 lbs. I have been hovering around my mini-goal for what feels like forever, so I intend to work my butt off and actually reach it this week.

Hey there BuddyBabe How long have you been hovering? You may be entering a plateau If you think this is the case....reduce your sodium this week...up your water....and workout an extra 20 minutes a day OR...reduce your calories for a couple days to shock your system. That should take care of it and help you reach your mini goal I hope that was helpful

Fitness Tip I actually use:
I like to walk a lot these days and sometimes I just feel it's getting too easy so I like to kick it up a notch as Emeril says. I walk my normal pace, which is getting faster, then I like to pick a vantage point, not too far from me and either run, racewalk, or skip to that place and then resume my normal pace. It gets me out of breath, and I read this back a few years ago in the Walking Magazine, and I know it works because I have done it everytime I get in a serious exercise regimine. It helps to build endurance and stamina and before you know it you can run, racewalk, skip further and further, and then you are able to walk even farther in a faster amount of time, thus benefitting your health and body! It burns more calories too.

Another Fitness Tip:
I saw this on a tv show years ago and I also do this when I am walking for some added challenge. While walking, I pick a vantage point and I suck my stomach in and hold it as hard as I can as I walk to that vantage point. When you get to the vantage point, let it all hang out hahaha, again. I try to do it at least for a minute or two at a time and I do it 3 different places on my walk. It's hard to do because by 25 steps I seem to start to let out my stomach and then I have to suck it in again. I have started doing this again this week as I want to start targeting my belly area, and I can feel it working along with those sit ups I am doing also.

Tips get posted in the points thread That way you can be SURE you'll credited for it I don't always remember to read through posts BEFORE i update points

Stretching doesn't count unless it's yoga...or before and after a workout We're looking for serious calorie burning

Make sure you're NOT holding your breath while doing this....tighten your stomach...not "suck" it in .

Stacey -Tips should be posted on the pionts thread hun Thanks Babe!

It's been a few weeks, I think I lost a lb one week, then maintained the next, then gained 2, then lost 2...it's so frustrating. I was going to monitor my sodium intake this week because I do think I end up eating a lot for the week, even though I drink a lot of water. I'll see where watching that gets me, and try to stay low on calories too. Hopefully something will work! My workout time will be longer too because I joined another challenge, so I'm hopeful that I will get down to my mini-goal!

Allison - Are you counting your calories? You may be at the point where you'll need to now if you're not already. Losing weight is really simply a mathematical equation. We need to lower our calories for 1 week by -3500 in order to lose 1lbs. So...you'd eat about 1500 calories a day to achieve that. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
