Hi Shanna
yep, Aussie through and through! I have friends who have been to the US and they say that the food there comes in a lot bigger serves than here, and that there seems to be a lot more fried food than we eat. She tells me that fried onion rings are really, really nice!

She also said that the bread there sweeter, and she couldn't find a decent cup of coffee! Good coffee is important here, and there are lots of little coffee shops everywhere with different blends and flavours. The other thing she couldn't find is plain rolled oats for making porridge for breakfast.

I have heard that in the US people don't prepare as much food at home from scratch, and many people bought breakfast and lunch routinely. But I think that's probably different for different families, the same as over here. We would only eat take-away maybe 1-2 times a month at the most, but many Aussies eat a lot of take-away and don't prepare a lot of food from scratch.

I do notice things like people use egg mix for breakfast and I think why don't they just eat the egg? I don't know anyone here that uses egg mix.
We also don't have the southbeach products here, they may be available in the major cities but not where I live.

Do you notice things that are different? I think it's quite interesting to hear what other people do, maybe I'm nosey too!!

Angela.... hahahaha, I meant "SO" happy... not "SOUND" happy. Guess I better start checkin my spellin... LOL

Jayne: very very interesting. Yes, Americans are so fast paced these days that it leaves little room for preparing meals from scratch. I miss that, but I do it as much as I can. I very seldom eat out any more. Prepare my breakfast lunch and snacks at home in the morning and bring with me. Usually gone from home about 14 hours a day, so suppers around my house are really really late. And YES, lots of fried stuff here, especially in Texas! I went to the state fair last year, and I think every food there was fried, even the ice-cream! I do believe I've had some good coffee though... but maybe I just don't know it's bad cause I've never had coffee in Australia. Must save my money and come to visit Australia.

Okay, where is Jane today???? Does anybody know?

YAY Angela is here! Sorry I forgot to tell you about this forum. You told me that you didn't have alot of time to be in the forums. Sorry, please forgive me. Glad you are here though.

Ok, so I fell off the SB wagon again already! What the heck is wrong with me?
got my hubby back on board (not that he needs to lose weight) and he is going to eat right and workout with me. So maybe this is the little extra help/push I need. It was so much easier when he was doing it with me. (He does phase 2 though since he is already thin)

So......I blew today already. yes, someone slap my hand cuz I need it!
I promised Jo and myself i was gonna do this and by George, I AM!

Tasha, why don't you just do Phase II? You can still lose weight that way. And it gives you a lot of variety, which is what I think you are craving and why you keep falling off the wagon. Your weight is down, you've got a good start on weight loss, so give your body some of that good fruit and whole grains and see if that doesn't help some. Just a suggestion. Glad your husband is on board with you. Lordy Lordy Lordy, what I wouldn't give to get my husband on board. I cringe every night when I see him slather butter on white bread and stuff it in his mouth... not just one slice, but 3 or 4. I can just hear his arteries hardening. *sighs*

Okay you wonderful SB bunnies. I WANT PATS ON THE BACK. I have not smoked for 3 1/2 days now and I NEED/WANT/DEMAND PATS ON THE BACK. hehe...

Huggggggggggggggggs,
Shan
