Default Green tea - does it count as water??

Every morning I drink a 16 oz glass of green tea with my breakfast.* I do this for several reasons:* I like it, it has a tiny bit of caffeine to get me going, and there are all sorts of health benefits from it.
However, I'm wondering:* does this count towards my 'water' intake for the day?* I hear so many different things saying you can't count caffeinated drinks, but does that just apply to sodium-filled sodas, or does my green tea not count?*
I think I'm getting plenty of water anyway, I go through at LEAST 64 ounces of plain ol'*water*in a day, usually more.* I'm just wondering.....do I count the green tea or not?* Does anybody know?

Some people don't count it because caffiene is a diuretic.* Well, new research says that it's a *very* mild diuretic, so I'd count it.*

Usually Green Tea has so little caffeine that it doesn't even count as a diuertic.
Unless you're adding stuff to it, it's basically water.
Plus, it sounds like you're getting plenty of water.

You definitely count the green tea with your water intake.

Thanks everyone!* I think I'm leaning towards counting it.* It does have caffeine, but I looked it up and it only has 30 mg per cup vs. coffee has 100 mg per cup.* I guess if I'm really worried about it I could switch to decaf, huh?? :-)* I don't add any sugar or creamer to it, just drink it straight, so it's probably OK.* I was just worried that if it was a huge diuretic that I was sapping out more water than I was getting by drinking it.
Thanks for all your input!
