for everyone that eats fresh fruit.* how do you keep the fruit flys away?* it seems with in a couple of hours after having fruit in a bowl i always have fruit flies.* any ideas how to keep them away?

I keep most of my fruit in the fridge so I don't get that problem too much.* When they do show up though they stick around forever so I'm interested in how people get rid of them too.

One thing is to make sure the fruit it clean.* If there are bruises, or if sugar has leached out from the fruit, it will be more likely to attract the fruit flys.* The only way I've ever gotten rid of them is swatting them!!!

I HATE FRUIT FLIES....and where do they come from anyway...are they in the fruit..if so..we eat this stuff?...mmmmm.....I just don't get it.* I keep all my fruit in the fridge..except bananas.

I hate them too~** I use the trick i found~** get clear glass a low one* put layer dish soap on bottom and then some apple cider vinegar

Shelly's thing is right. Another trick, take a jar or glass and put vinegar and a little water inside, then put saran wrap (or a lid) on top with toothpick sized holes in it. They will climb in for the vinegar and then aren't quite smart enough to get out. Eventually they drown. I know that sounds awful but it works. Good luck!
