Default Gardenburger Reviews

We chewed SEVEN different veggie burgers from Gardenburger. Now we're telling all...***

The Original

(1 patty - 100 calories, 3.5g fat, 420mg sodium, 14g carbs, 5g fiber, 1g sugars, 5g protein* = 1.5 Points)

What They Say:* When people say "veggie burger," this is what they are talking about. The Original Veggie Patty. The real deal. Mushrooms, onions, brown rice, rolled oats, a blend of mozzarella and cheddar cheese, parsley and a hint of garlic. Grill it,*heat it up in the oven, or put it in the toaster. There's a reason*so many people still love the Original.

fficeffice" />>>

Is It Pretty?* Yes!*It looks like a very attractive, hearty veggie burger.

>>

What We Say: This is a perfect, restaurant-quality veggie burger.* Hearty and cheesy, you really feel and taste the brown rice & subtle seasonings.* It's very likable and classic. *This exact burger is served at*many restaurants, so it could very well taste familiar to you. *This patty is super-popular for a reason.* And that reason is, IT'S DELICIOUS!

>>

Rating: A solid 9.5.>>

Veggie Medley

(1 patty -*90 calories, 2g fat, 290mg sodium, 11g carbs, 4g fiber, 1g sugars, 9g protein* = 1 Point)

What They Say:* Our Veggie Medley is a farmer's market blend of delicious vegetables and grains with broccoli, rolled oats, savory onions, red and yellow bell peppers, crisp carrots, brown rice and water chestnuts. Field meets farm in this delicious burger.>>

>*>

Is It Pretty? Um, sorta but not really.*It's colorful but a little mushy looking.>>

>*>

What We Say: Interesting vegetable choices, Gardenburger (crunchy water chestnuts, yummy carrots & broccoli).* But this soft patty falls apart easily and is hardly a burger at all.* And despite the various and sundry*veggies poking out everywhere, it still doesn't taste very good.* One bite of this thing made us wonder why it exists*with "Garden Vegan" and "Original" burgers already*in the line.

>>

Rating:*A disappointing 5.5.>>

Sun-Dried Tomato Basil

(1 patty - 100 calories, 3g fat, 310mg sodium, 15g carbs, 5g fiber, 2g sugars, 5g protein* = 1 Point)

What They Say:* Italian-style vegetables in a whole grain burger with brown rice, basil, fresh onions, mozzarella cheese, rolled oats, red and green bell peppers, sun-dried tomatoes and garlic.* A must for sun-dried tomato fans.>>

>*>

Is It Pretty?* Absolutely!* With a lovely salmon pink hue, this may very well be the prettiest patty of all!*

>>

What We Say:* Nicely done!* This burger has a solid tomato flavor and grains of rice throughout.* The basil flavor is subtle, which is an added bonus.**It took a little getting used to, but this burger improved with every bite.*

>>

Rating: 8.* We like it.>>

Portabella

(1 patty -*90 calories, 2.5g fat, 360mg sodium, 15g carbs, 5g fiber, 1g sugars, 5g protein* = 1 Point)

What They Say:* A savory whole grain burger made from fine portabella mushrooms with mozzarella cheese, wild rice, fresh onions and rolled oats. The shroomiest burger off the shelf.

>>

Is It Pretty?* It's as pretty as any mushroom-packed burger can be, we suppose.**

>>

What We Say:* This is a very unique burger. *There's LOTS of mushroom flavor in it, so if you're not a fan of mushrooms, run screaming from this patty. *We LOVE 'em so we really dig this burger. *The texture is great, too. *And the brown rice, mushrooms and cheese go great together. *Yum!* By the way, we're not here to edit Gardenburger's copy, but shouldn't it be "the shroomiest burger ON the shelf"?*

>>

Rating: 9.* We'll be visiting with this one again, thank you.>>

Black Bean Chipotle

(1 patty - 80 calories, 2.5g fat, 250mg sodium, 13g carbs, 5g fiber, 1g sugars, 5g protein* = 1 Point)

What They Say:* Our spicy gourmet black bean veggie patty made with the finest blend of black beans, brown rice, savory onions, corn, fresh red bell peppers and ffice:smarttags" />lace w:st="on">Anaheimlace> chilies with a touch of cilantro and garlic. Tex-Mex in true Gardenburger style.

>>

Is It Pretty?* Of course!* There are corn kernels EVERYWHERE.* It's GORGEOUS.*

>>

What We Say:* Wow, wow WOW!* This is not just the best veggie burger in Gardenburger's overpopulated veggie burger line, it could very well be THE greatest, most delicious veggie patty of all time!* Kicky, and a bit spicy, it's a Mexican fiesta in your mouth!* Packed with beans and corn, it would be awesome with some salsa, avocado, or fat-free sour cream.* And the recipe possibilities are endless; it'd be great in burritos, salads, or even egg white scrambles.* This burger is our new best friend.

>>

Rating: 10.* It's PERFECT.>>

Flame Grilled

(1 patty - 90 calories, 4g fat, 470mg sodium, 5g carbs, 4g fiber, 0g sugars, 11g protein* =*1 Point)

What They Say: This juicy, sensational, meaty veggie burger is a summertime tailgate special. We use all-natural, specially seasoned veggie patties and grill them over a red-hot flame.

Is It Pretty?*Eeeks.* Not really.

What We Say:* What can we say? This burger tastes bad.* It's crumbly and will likely remind you of that horrendous mystery meat straight from the jr. high school cafeteria.* If you're looking for a veggie burger that tastes like meat, you are WAY better off reaching for a Boca Burger (sorry, we love you Gardenburger, but it's true).>>
Rating: 3.5.* Ick.

Garden Vegan

(1 patty - 100 calories, 1g fat, 230mg sodium, 12g carbs, 3g fiber, 0g sugars, 10g protein = 1.5 Points)

What They Say: The best vegan burger you can eat without planting your own garden and figuring out our secret recipe. Our combination of whole grains, fresh mushrooms, garlic, savory onions and spices make a great tasting wholesome vegan burger.

Is It Pretty? Not beautiful but it's good-looking enough.

What We Say: We really like this one, but it tastes more like stuffing than an actual veggie burger. If you love fried items, or bready, doughy things, you'll flip over this burger, because it can actually help you kick a craving for fried foods. This one's interesting, different, and tasty.

Rating: 8.5. Hooray!

*
***HG TIP!* Always go by the nutritionals on the box for the most accurate numbers. Websites can*be out of date, but the box doesn't lie!

****Please note.* Many WW followers*don't count half points and prefer to round up.* Those people should count the 1.5 point patties as 2 points.

*
BTW, I'm not a vegetarian and I love veggie burgers!*
