Marie's Delicious Granola
Granola is the perfect food. I hate store bought brands that always taste like coconut! A good granola tastes comforting, natural and sweet. It's the perfect breakfast, topping to yoghurt or apple crumble and is the ideal snack when veggie out at work. Packed with fibre it'll help you keep full longer and will help you make wise food choices because the need to binge is gone. Add whatever you want from dried fruits to nuts to make it your own signature granola. * 3 cups rolled oats * 1 cup blanched slivered almonds * 1/4 cup wheat germ * 1/8 cup flax seeds * 1/2 cup unsalted pumpkin seeds * 1/3 cup unsalted sunflower seeds * 1/4 cup pure maple syrup * 3T packed dark brown sugar * 1/4 cup canola oil * 2 tablespoons warm water * 2 drops maple extract * 1 cup raisins DIRECTIONS: 1. Preheat the oven to 300F. 2. In a large bowl, toss together all the ingredients and then spread out on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. 3. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes in the preheated oven, stirring occasionally until evenly toasted. 4. Cool. break apart, store in an airtight container. DO NOT, use flax oil. It tastes like bad.
