Default Diabetes Symptoms and Home Remedies

Diabetes is characterized by an abnormally high level of blood glucose within the urine. It results from relative lack of insulin which leads to abnormalities in carbohydrate

metabolism and the metabolism of protein and fat. Ancient scholars of Ayurveda knew Diabetes Mellitus some 3000 years ago. The association of frequent urination with

sweet tasting substance in the urine was first reported in Charaka Samhita, the ancient ayurvedic classic.

Risk Factors:
Diet rich in fatty substances and fewer activities are the risk factors for Diabetes . Besides diabetes has been found to be associated with some conditions like
• Obesity, hypertension, cholesterol (combined hyperlipidemia),
• Metabolic syndrome acromegaly,
• Cushing's syndrome and a number of other endocrinological disorders.
• Having first degree relatives with diabetes.

Symptoms
• Increased urination.
• Person feels thirsty and hungry most of the time.
• Gets tired easily.
• Feeling of drowsiness.
• General weakness

Diabetes
• Take low-calorie, low-fat, alkaline diet of natural foods.
• Increase the intake of raw food as it stimulates the pancreas and increases insulin production.
• Exercise is important in the treatment of diabetes. Jogging, walking and swimming are recommended.
• Take meals at regular intervals of the day.
• Avoid fried or sugar rich food.
• Avoid starchy food like rice, potatoes etc.

Other Remedies
• Crush about four to five bitter gourds (karela) and strain the juice through a fine cloth. Take this juice on an empty stomach.
• The inner bark of Jamun tree (Indian berry) is also very useful for diabetes. Dry the bark and burn it. This will produce an ash of white colour. This ash should be

pestled in the mortar, strained and bottled. Take 15 grams of this ash with water, on an empty stomach in the morning.
• Juice of tender mango leaves taken every morning helps in controlling diabetes.
• Pestle 6gms of fenugreek seeds(Methi) in mortar and soak them in 250ml of water overnight. In the morning, stir it vigorously and strain though a clean fine cloth.

Drink this mixture every morning for a period of 2 months to get rid of diabetes.

I am a diabetic myself and although some of what you are saying is true, I have never heard of your "remedies". I was recommended to watch my carbs and to eat high fiber carbs and eliminate white flours, and I do believe this is doing the trick! My cholesterol is normal now. I think if a person has diabetes or is worried about getting it, ask your physician and do not try remedies!

Walking and aerobic exercise is a good option for us diabetics. I have noticed that just walking daily for 30 mins or more lowers my overall blood glucose during the entire day and night, so I recommend that to anyone who is struggling with diabetes. And also, no one program works for everyone.

Hi Stacey, nice to know you're doing something about your diabetes Are you monitoring it as well? Diabetes is all about blood sugar control, if you have that in check, you'll be perfectly fine! I'm a diabetic myself.

Yea that guy's spamming, I saw it in another thread as well

Diabetes mellitus comes in two types - Type 1 or Type 2. If you are one of the lucky ones with Type 2 (about 95%), this can be controlled through diet and exercise. See Stacy's answer above.

Glucose only leaks out into the urine when the glucose goes above 180 mg/dl. Diabetes mellitus should be caught way before reaching this stage to prevent any damage to the kidneys. If it goes above 240 mg/dl, ketones will begin to leak into the urine.
