Default Hunger still an issue

I was wondering if anyone here has ever dieted and at the end of the day still felt hungry? I've been eating smaller more frequent portions and I stopped eating after 6pm but at around 8 or 9 I start to feel hungry again. Like I'm not completely full. I was told by a friend that I shouldn't have a fruit at night b/c it's not good b/c of the sugar, but I can't take eating carrots or celery every other night as a snack. Is there anything I could add to my dinner routine that will minimize my hunger?

I drink water. Dunno if it's really a solution or psychological, but I don't feel as hungry!

BIG HUGS! There is nothing worse than feeling hungry.... it's horrible!

I count calories, so when my calories are up....that's it! However, I do keep diet jelly in the fridge so I have a bit of that and don't really count the calories.

Otherwise, I eat chopped up celery, cabbage and carrot.

I know this puts me a tiny bit over my calories but I lost 35kgs by doing this....it helped me to stop binge eating.

Oh, I found that drinking loads of water helped too.

Good luck and let me know how you are going!

See I drink the water to hold my hunger over till morning, but then I wake up in the middle of the night having to pee like a mad woman! lol I tried snacking on carrots at night but I'd hate to have carrots EVERY single night. I'm just beginning to think it might be psychological thing. I'm a huge comfort eater and I usually get lonely at night since my husband leaves to go to work at 6pm and doesn't come home till 6am. I've tried to focus on other things like playing with my daughter or writing blogs on MySpace, but it seems like that feeling at the pit of my stomach (my hunger) never seems to go away until I fall asleep. ;[
