Question The Sweet Tea Habbit

I just joined today and I am starting my diet today. I can drag myself to a treadmill I can not drink soda, coffee or any of the usual addictions. I CANNOT Kick my sweet tea habbit. I am a Southern Girl who will go to restaurants just because they have sweet tea. My husband is military so we move a lot and not that many places out of the south have brewed sweet tea. I know its not the tea, Its the sugar. I can maybe cut it down to one and a half cups but after that its just not my sweet tea any longer. Any suggestions?

They only thing I can say is that you just have to ask yourself how bad you want to lose the weight. If you want it bad enough then you will be willing to try to kick your sweet tea habit. Try drinking less of it each time and then you will eventually cut down on it and maybe eventually not even want it anymore. I use to be that way with Coke. I had to give it up cold turkey though. Now, it really doesn't even taste that good to me. Good luck to you!

Have you tried Lipton's diet Green Tea? I buy the citrus flavor - I haven't tried the other flavors yet. Don't shoot me if that's some kind of insult - I'm new to drinking Iced Tea at all But I think it's pretty good - nice sweet flavor with a nutrition label that is 0 everything except 120mg of sodium per 16.9 oz bottle.

I believe that you cannot cut out those things you truly love - unless you substitute something else in its place. Otherwise you will crave what you are doing without and feel like you're being punished - but if you come up with an acceptable substitute, you can enjoy it and not feel guilty.

I hope you like it. GOod luck in your efforts.

Sweet Tea a la HG!

PER SERVING (1/3rd of recipe, 1 glass): 18 calories, 0g fat, 0mg sodium, 4g carbs, 0g fiber, 0g sugars, 0g protein -- POINTSŪ value 0*

This is no ordinary tea, people. It's a Southern specialty with a guilt-free twist!

Ingredients:
4 tea bags, black tea (or your favorite tea)
1/2 cup Splenda No Calorie Sweetener (granulated)
3 3/4 cups cold water

Directions:
Place tea bags in a heat-safe medium pitcher (hang tags over the top, if you prefer), and set aside. In a medium pot, combine water and Splenda. Over medium heat, bring to a boil. Once water reaches a full boil, pour over the tea bags. Allow to steep for 5 minutes. Then remove tea bags, and refrigerate until chilled. Enjoy exactly as is, or over some ice!

MAKES 3 SERVINGS

hope u like

I just had to giggle because my husband is from southern Alabama, and his Momma makes tea so sweet that it makes my teeth hurt!

I personally can't stand the aftertaste of artifical sweetners, so the only thing I can suggest is to slowly cut back on the sugar in the tea, and then cut it out stuff where it's not as a big deal to you. I use real sugar in my coffee every morning, but stay away from it every place else.

Good luck!

p.s. I see that you are APO AP. We're FPO AE! How's it out there in WestPac???
