Lightbulb Will fruit in the evening bury your diet?

Hi everyone,
I'm not following any specific diet regime, just watching my kcals, and am also not very aware of different diets out there but for those of you that are, i have a question for you: according to the diet regime that you are following, is eating fruit in the evening a no-no (because it is high in sugar)?

Lidecka, I am not sure about fruit in the eveining but the plan I follow, (Southbeach Diet) says it is best to eat fruit in the middle of the day. The reason being is that the neatural sugars in them can cause a small "sugar rush" and lead to cravings. My plan says it is best to not eat it in the mornings for that reason. Hope this helps you a bit. I would imagine that since you have a had a full day and your stomach isn't empty, the "sugar" effect may not be as bad later in the day or the evening. Hope I have helped you a little! Sorry for the ramble.

Geez, I hope not......watermelon is the only thing that gets me through the night! LOL! It is sweet enough to keep me away from chocolate when I get my Evening Sweet Tooth. I scoop out chunks with a melon baller and keep a whole bowl of them in the fridge, and just keep going back for a few pieces whenever a craving kicks in. I've lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks, so it seems to be working!

Too much of anything is not good for you; but in moderation it should be ok. I follow a strict low carb diet and fruit is not allowed at this point due to it's sugar content. But after my weigh-ins on Wednesday i usually eat watermelon!!!

i also do south beach..i'm still in phase 1..but was doing atkins.
when I ate fruit, i would only eat it as a snack between breakfast and lunch or between lunch and dinner. after dinner snacks were usually sf jello, or a small amt of nuts...or a few cubes of cheese...or 2 celery stalks w/ low fat cream cheese or all natural peanut butter
