Question Help!

I don't know how to fit in my workouts! I have a 10-month old and I teach 7th grade, so you can imagine how exhausted I am most of the time. LOL I've been on Fall Break for 2 weeks, so I've had plenty of time to exercise. I go back to work next week, though, and I'm already getting nervous.

Here's my schedule:

5:30am - breakfast, shower, get ready for work
6:40 - leave my house for work
4:15 - pick up daughter from baby-sitter (sometimes I have meetings and it's closer to 5 before I can pick her up)
5:00 - fix supper, eat, clean up kitchen
7:00 - Bath & bedtime for baby
8:00 - crash on couch with hubby & watch a little TV, read, etc.
9:30 - start getting ready for bed

Help! I'm not sure what to do ... get up at 4:30am (yikes!), or work out really close to bedtime. I don't really like the idea of working out at 8pm - I'm usually exhausted by then and I need some down time to maintain my sanity. I'm really trying to get in shape and would like to be able to work out at least 45-60 min. per day; I'm just not sure where to squeeze it in. Any ideas?

1. Find ways to workout while doing other things. (You can dance, do lunges, calf raises, etc while cooking/cleaning)

2. Can you afford a treadmill? I like to walk on mine while I'm watching TV/ Reading and it doesn't feel like I'm working out as much.
OR see if your hubby will go on walks with you in the evening

3. Ask hubby to cook once or twice a week so you've time to workout, even if it's taking baby for a walk-- Then you can also workout on Sat & Sun without stressing so much about time.

If he won't fix dinner, have either a left over night or prepare something the night before that can just be warmed up the next day. Even a crock pot creation once a week!

Those are some great idea, Joy. Thanks! I may ask hubby to pitch in with the cooking a couple of nights a week. With the weather turning cooler, I can do a lot of crockpot stews, too, that can be prepared ahead of time. I could make my "off days" during the week, too, instead of the weekends. My plan was to work out 5 times a week, M-F, but maybe I should try a M-W-F-S-S routine instead, with T & Th as my off days. I was just feeling really overwhelmed wtih the idea of fitting in a workout every weekday. Thanks again!

Hey Amy! You sure have a busy schedule!!! Like Joy said, try to squeeze in 5 minutes here and there, it will all add up. I'm sure you don't have a super long lunch break being at a school, but if you can fit a few minutes in, I like to go for walks during lunch.

Hey there! I am about as crazy busy as you. Keep breathing Girl!!!! You can do it. I squeeze in mine by leaving the dishes right after dinner and heading out with my kiddos for a walk. It's a nice way for them to calm down before bedtime too. Then I always feel like I have more energy when I get home to do the next task. And I sleep better too!

I wish I could just wait till 5 or so to do a 5 mile walk/jog. I know I'd sleep good then!
