Default Skin Skin Skin...

So...I have noticed here just recently, that I do indeed have some skin issues that will most likely need corrected...

I have been working with arm/weight machines for over a year...Mostly bicep...And I now have a very nice, albeit, SMALL, bicep!! I am quite proud...

Sadly, my tricep looks sad and flabby. So I am going to work on that now...The funny thing is, my husband and I JUST started noticing it...So why???

Did my body just now decide to take some weight from that area and leave me with skin?? UGH...

So far, this is the first skin issue I have. I imagine I will have SOME on my belly too...

What are peoples thoughts here...Surgery??? Or leave it be???

Thanks!

I started some toning exercises tonight...Gonna give it about three months to see if I can get some of it gone, then reassess once I reach my ultimat goal, of course...

Using moisturising cream and lots of rough massage did the trick for me - and losing the weight slowly, of course. When I went through my biggest weight loss a few years back, there was much more loose skin than there is now... so I would suggest not to do anything drastic immediately after you have reached your goal weight... skin takes years to jump back... but it does... it did with me. Toning can only do so much because - think about it - if you're going to replace all that missing fat with muscle, it's just going to look bulky again.

when you lose rapidly, the skin doesn't have time to shrink back either. I had to really focus on certain areas more, tricep being one..as i lost fat, i was left with loose skin. also having 2 kids, and losing belly fat, my skin is stretched. I have heard that the muscles there rip and it's harder to have a flat stomach again, but I'm hoping.

After all the research I've done, I believe that the skin will go back to "normal" given enough time and proper exercise. Here is one great article on this subject: Loose skin. And here is another really good article on the subject: Another Loose skin article.

try working some soy into your diet, one of the benefits of soy is it helps with the elasticity of your skin. along with your working out an essential fatty acid vitamin may help as it has many benefits to your skin as well.

I also bleive you can tighten skin after weight loss.

My husband lost a lot of weight too quickly about a year ago and though he exercised heavily and daily, the skin was slow to retreat. He still had a bit of a flabby belly, but it did tighten up on most areas and if he had continued to workout (instead of regaining) I'm sure the belly skin would have tightened up too over time.
