Thanks for the links Dawn, I\'m going to have to check these shows out! It\'s just incredible to me to know that there are people going through these struggles. I for one will never understand it, and at 338 lbs. for my heaviest, you can rest assured that I know what it\'s like to have a weight problem and addiction to food!

Maybe the guy was ordering out, but being bed ridden I am sure he didn\'t answer the door and get the food. I know we aren\'t supposed to judge other peoples actions and whatnot, but how can a family member just sit idly by letting someone eat like that? I wouldn\'t let him have the food he ordered. No matter how many times he\'d order. How about taking the phone away from him? I mean, there has got to be something that his family could do other then to just let the guy eat whatever he wanted. 8 steaks a night?

I also agree that a bariatric program should not allow someone to be in their p

I just had to say too, that if your loved one was an alcoholic, would you give them a bottle of whiskey or rum? Hell no!

Ok Dawnie my husband and I did catch the 33,000 calories one and I was amazed. I could not believe all that food they had on that table. I was also thinking like you why was his family bringing him all that food and somebody had to be giving him money. He may have been on disability but that was affording the 3 to 4 hundred dollars a day he was spending on food. I just cant see why they were just helping him along and letting him just lay there and eat. Also I was shocked to see the bucket outside his window for food deliveries. He actually sent money down and they would send the food back up in the bucket that is crazy. I just feel like his family could have helped him sooner and not provided his drug of chose(food) so easily. I did not catch the other so but this one was just crazy.

Well I\'m not sure if you missed the part about him ordering take out but he actually lowers a bucket from his window down to the street with money... they place the food in the bucket and he lifts it up into his room... I\'m sure there is so much more to it and it is not as easy to just take away his phone or something.. who knows though...

It\'s just really hard for me to believe that anyone would just keep feeding someone like that without trying to help at all.. They can\'t honestly like being full time cooks

You\'re right of course...Its easy for us to sit in judgement I suppose, not living through it specifically...
But I am still, very much amazed that these people cant seem to get the help or support they so desperately need...Especially the young man that was in the hospital...
They are litterally eating themselves into a grave...What a very very sad waste of life...
I can tell you now, just from my journey, I NEVER want food to have that kind of hold on me again...To be bed ridden and miss out on life just so I can eat a large pizza??? Soooo not worth it...
Ugh!!!! Thanks for the feeback ladies!!! Interesting indeed to hear the different points of view!!!

I am shocked to hear about the bucket and am thinking they should have taken the bucket away. Of course, it is easy for me to say, and I do not want to be in their shoes. It\'s just so very sad.
