I don\'t know what is wrong with people today to make them do such a thing. This whole world has gone mad if you ask me. My heart goes out to all the families.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of these people and their families. So many lives that hadn\'t even begun yet. These are KIDS, for god sake. What is WRONG with people that they feel violence is the only answer?? I\'m not even sure why this happened yet as I don\'t have the whole story. I know that whatever happened, this was NOT the answer. I have nothing against the US at all, but to be honest, I would be absolutely scared to death to raise a child there. I\'m not saying this doesn\'t happen anywhere else in the world, but its statistically so much higher in the US. Who knows why. Probably a combination of things. But to worry my child will be SHOT at school? Its insane. I\'m truly frightened of what the world will be like when the children of today are adults.

I live down the road from Virginia Tech (about 20 minutes) and this is so tragic. People in my office and company have lots of their kids there and the last couple of days have just been awful. Not being able to get hold of them and hanging onto every news report. The whole area is crawling with media. Thankfully, everyone I know is alright but my heart goes out to those that can\'t say that.
Love & Peace

I admire all those you express nothing but compassion for those that got hurt. I for one... I was thinking, should I even post this... really, truly, I feel the compassion, but that is not my primary feeling. I also feel so incredibly angry with that shooter. To have imposed his personal problems onto so many others that had absolutely nothing to do with it... that\'s the ultimate fascism. There is no excuse. That\'s why this is so impossible to understand..

[/t]I know what you mean, being that I am a parent to four children in the California school system. I think the same thing so often myself and have seriously been considering home schooling recently. Don\'t get my wrong, I love my country dearly but it is true that we have high statistics for this sort of crime, and it is scary! Our schools here for our children continually ensure us that they have the proper securtiy measures intact and they are doing everything they can to prevent this sort of thing from happening. But, I can\'t trust in that because I just don\'t believe that our kids are truly safe. I found out recently from my son that at least some of the cameras at their school don\'t even work. Not to mention, we as humans have the tendency to grow complacent, and while we are doing so, God only knows what is going on in the heads of these kids who go on these rampages. It is a sad, scary time that we live in today. [IMG
